Must be making Eriksen think about his situation. RM apparently not interested and maybe won't be in the future and a contract waiting to be signed that would probably stop Dybala talk in it's tracks.

There has been no announcement on stadium naming rights. What if this is because Levy has signed a MASSIVE deal and doesn’t want selling clubs to know our true spending power. In the words of my teenage daughter, just saying ?

This is an interesting point. If I know Levy (and I don't) I would assume his main priority would be securing funding for the stadium in the form of namings rights.

Closing the window with a renewed, talented sqaud and then announcing a huge deal for the stadium would be exactly the sort of thing Levy would do.

This feels much more like a Spurs transfer window now. A big name has been thrown in the ring that’s for everyone excited. No one cares if there is even a chance of it happening. Everyone is just enjoying imagining a quality player we’ve actually all seen play in a Spurs shirt. And no doubt we will all continue to do so until Deadline Day when the ‘we tried and failed’ stuff comes out!! This feels more like Spurs. Thank God.

How is this a smoke screen from Tottenham to pressure Betis the sale of Lo Celso???? That makes no sense!

First, ITK already said Lo Celso is all but done, which if that is true, why would Tottenham be smoke screening?

Second, Say ITK was wrong and it indeed is a screen ... It still makes no sense to be a screen for Lo Celso because Dybala is clearly more expensive than Lo Celso. And if Tottenham did happen to tell Betis that they want Lo Celso cheaper or they are gonna back out and go get Dybala - that would in NO way force Betis's hand. But rather it would show Betis we do have money and they shouldn't budge on their stance.

I’ve seen a lot of these posts about how it can’t be a move to force Betis hand because Dybala is more expensive. Haven’t reached end of thread yet so don’t know if it’s been addressed, but have to disagree entirely with that notion ...

It’s not like our stance on prices is based entirely on convincing a team how much or how little money we have in our piggy bank.

We have a figure we believe that Lo Celso is worth. We aren’t willing to budge much beyond that. We have a figure that we believe Dybala is worth and it’s probably more than Lo Celso for a variety of reasons. Betis don’t have to believe we have no money left in some silly hoodwinking manoeuvre, they just have to know how much we think the player is worth and how strong we are that we won’t bend on that front. And that now we have identified a player we believe to be available and may now use all that money on him instead of Lo Celso.

I’m not suggesting Dybala is purely an effort to put pressure on Betis, however, wanted to dispel the notion that he couldn’t be because he cost more.

We're looking for a way to be disappointed when we sign Lo Celso, that's all. We'll be like "oh crap, we signed Lo Celso, not Dybala".

Needless to say this has perked me up this morning.

My view on it is this. It is surely highly unlikely that we would expect to have Eriksen, Lo Celso and Dybala all on the books at the same time, for many reasons.

If Eriksen is staying then I would imagine we're look at either Dybala or Lo Celso.

If Eriksen is going then I would imagine we'd be inclined to try and bring in Dybala and Lo Celso. The latter as his replacement with Dybala as more of a forward to support Kane but also able to play deeper/wide when required.

Either way, this shit is bananas.

I also see it as a good thing that JJ deleted his tweet.

Agree

But you could argue Ossie was at the peak of his career, whereas Klinsmann was towards the end.

Anyhow , not much in it
Dont agree. Klinsmann was perhaps the best pure striker in the world at the time, alongside Batistuta.

He had been around the top for a number of years but was at his peak really.

Plus, ossie was a different era when there was less hype over players.

If a new ITK thread appears for today then I might start to believe something is close, things are happening, until then, we have a game today and lots of (fun) noise about transfers.

This window feels like Spurs windows of old (from a certain point of view)

It’s in the ITK thread.

It smacks to me, as others have already pointed out, of briefing.

Ally and Dan KP both coming out with the story at the same time etc.
I can see why you'd think that, I just think we're at a different stage now.

A Mexican club official accidentally transferred £70m rather than £7m for VJ. Daniel’s trying to move the cash on before it can get recalled. That’s what happens if you execute bank transfers after too much tequila kids.

It is worth noting that Spurs enquiring about Dybala was actually first broken by Italian based Journalist yesterday morning. So whilst you could say that Ally and Dan KP were briefed, you can't say the same about Tuttosport.
