Hmm maybe this is looking like one of those cases where a player shouldn't be written off when making sporadic appearances as an 18 year old.

Just a thought.

This thread, and the rest of social media tbf about Skipp, continues to be gold. A proper showcase of the myopic inconsistent kneejerk fucktardedness that you get from football fans.

Tbh it’s very hard not to get excited about a performance like that. And it’s not really knee jerk. It’s not like some kid we’ve never seen before. There were flashes last season and obviously now finished his exams and can 100% focus on football. That said I was still a bit shocked how much he trained on over summer. Gone was the slightly nervous looking sideways 5 yard passes. Anyway let’s see hopefully it wasn’t a flash in the pan.

It's all been complete bollocks, written by people who haven't got a clue.

A couple of games where he's deemed to be poor and he's not good enough. Now a game or two where he does alright and it's obsessing over which player he's going to be and other OTT proclamations. I guarantee the next time he slips/Spurs lose the posts will be back to he's not good enough/ready, and the 'Why we playing kids for!????'/What does Poch see in him/Fuck off Levy you tight **** not signing anyone!!!!!!! etc etc etc.

Ultimately he might make it with us, he might not, who knows. But this kneejerk rollercoaster, like with so many subjects, depending on a good or bad performances is tiresome to read.

Then there are the really hilarious comments. I've seen a load of 'he did things I've never seen him do before/realised he could do' type posts since the weekend........ Really? Obviously some people don't watch the football matches with much attention (I'm sure we all knew that already). And what you have said above is similar to lots of what I have read, and I don't know what you're expecting? This is what happens with 99% of young players when they step up to adult football. They come in and play a bit conservatively, it takes time to get used to the level/speed of the game etc, get fitter and stronger as they develop, and find some rhythm and confidence the more games they play and it starts to look a bit easier. It's just a natural part of football development, and many need to realise this.

This might enrage a lot of people, but I don't care because it's true... Most of you shouldn't be commenting on football. But, if you insist on doing it, then at least try to show some thought, rationale, and understanding to what is posted. Or just stick to the utter bollocks in the transfer forum.

I personally think he’s most similar in style to prime Platini.

Winner.

Fans are fucking morons.

Was written off as an 18 year old "as not good enough" after a few cup appearances.

Plays well in a meaningless preseason friendly and all of sudden he is better than Winks.

Fuck sake.

???

What ? He wasn’t as good as the juventus game but in no way poor probably 7.5/10

For me he was more of a 5 or 6. Very sloppy passing, wrong weight, mis-placed, and was well off the pace defensively. I'm not scapegoating him as nearly everyone was a 5 or a 6 today.

Watched the video and, unpopular opinion warning, he seems a bit awkward on the ball.
Still kept it and didn't give it away but almost as if he was still finding his feet after a growth spurt.

Great potential though.

It’s so hard to tell if a player is going to be top draw when they are 17/18. I remember first watching Kane against Hearts in the Europa and even on his PL debut against Sunderland on a Monday night and never in a million years would I have predicted the player he turned out to be. Skip is clearly rated by the club and they see him every day, and TBH in the opening test game at the new stadium he was head and shoulders above the rest of the players. Is he a Kane type level or will he be a Townsend / Mason good EPL level only time will tell, but the signs are promising!

Mr Intolerant, can you be a more patronising dip stick? Pity us fools who don't have your IQ, intellect or sense of rationale. How dare we express any opinion we might have, silly us.
