@Mr Pink

The Big Cancer Thread in Chat has been great for me.

Recently found out my mother has cancer in every lymph node, alongside a tumour in the bowel and five in the liver. Chemo has a 10% chance of giving her another 3 years - but terminal

I'm heading home this weekend to hear if she wants to bother with chemo, and find out how many weeks/months she has left.

All I can say is that it hit me massively, such a shock, but the guys on this forum are fantastic support when you need to be the brave one in front of your family.

LC

All the best to you and your Mum mate, so sorry to hear this

Understand the importance of this so much more now.

Just found out my mum has cancer of the spine, liver and lower part of the brain, obviously very advanced with no recovery ?

Really sorry to hear this mate, can only echo what others have said in saying everyone is here for you to talk to if need be and thoughts are definitely with you, your mum and rest of family.

The love in this thread from fellow Spurs fans is the sort of thing that reminds me that - despite the horrible divisiveness and anger you see every day on social media - deep down people are bloody decent and do care for each other.

It’s one of the things I love most about SC.

@Mr Pink I am so sorry to read about your news. As you've already seen plenty of us have been in your shoes, and I can only echo what others have said; you'll find a lot of support here if and when you need it.
On a related issue, it perhaps ought to be said that this should go for anyone out there, whether they're suffering from illness, bereavement, depression, suicide in the family. Reach out. There's a lot of hands that'll pull you up.

Unless you're a West Ham fan who's accidentally wandered in here. You can fuck off.

@Mr Pink So sorry to hear that news, and it puts things in perspective.

I lost my mum a few months ago to the big C. It sounds blindingly obvious to say it, but even the briefest contact in the closing days / weeks / months is so appreciated, however difficult it is to keep the tears back until you're alone and can let it all out. So be there as much as you can.

As for the rest of you on here, for all the dumbass stupidity and arguments all over the place your response is proof of how amazing ordinary people can be.

Already donated to Vics, but just because this is the place it is, just lobbed another £100 to keep the site running.

(Oh, plus the standing order of £3.50 a month for Mrs A&C. See you Thursday at 2:17 pm as usual. (y))

You have my best wishes and my heart goes out to you Mr Pink , i lost 4 family members in an 8 week period at the back end of last year and 3 out the 4 were from Cancer . The 4th loss was my grandchild who didn't make it through birth and to commemorate them i am doing a sky dive late this month with all proceeds going to the local hospice who cared for them so well on which would of been my dads birthday . I know how your feeling but try to keep strong and be there for the rest of the family .
Much love and best best wishes from a fellow Yid x
