CE! The reports coming out about considering a new 4 year contract with us is true. It is all about the minefield of clauses. It will not deter our quest to bring in two midfielders, which is well documented. Danny Rose wants a new contract. It is all about what he expects, and what we would possibly offer. No buyers at present for VJ, and GK.

Holy smokes, just imagine having N'Dombele, Lo Celso AND Eriksen in the same squad.

Yes please!

Will we ever be free from the tyranny of Vinny and George?

Madrid going hard for Pogba also potentially means there's one less suitor for N'dombele. Still difficult if City and Juve are in for him, but certainly helps.

All the talk of 2 weeks, that's the deal that I feel needs some serious movement in 2 weeks because he must have a whole host of offers.

Best part of Herc's info is that it would seem we don't have to sell Eriksen to buy the other two. I wondered if the purchase of Lo Celso and N'Dombele was being held up at all because of waiting for Madrid to give us what we wanted for Eriksen.

All three would be amazing in one squad. Eriksen has been run ragged the past few seasons as there was NO ONE in the team that could replace what he did. If there are other effective options in squad and he can get a break once in a while, I'm sure CE can be even better than what we saw from him before this season.

Rose is a tough one just due to injury factor. If we didn't have to worry about his missing time, I think it is a no-brainer. He had some great performances this year and he has that edge to him that I wish more of our guys had. But being 28 and already injury-prone, can you totally count on him? Tough decision there.

Ideal world we keep Toby, Rose and Eriksen but it’s imperative that we also add to the squad. Getting both N’Dombele and Lo Celso would seriously boost our competitiveness and strength in-depth. It would be interesting to see what our realistic net spend budget is as on one hand it means we don’t need as many replacements but on the other hand if Eriksen stays, thus drastically reducing our potential income... we will have less to spend to strengthen elsewhere.

Based on the above players we would be sorted at centre back, and central midfield.

Outstanding areas:

3rd choice keeper - peanuts
RB - imperative
LB - as per ITK, hopefully a young understudy in Sessegnon
Forward/striker - still feel we need a match winner or someone who offers more than Llorente. Obviously subject to financials Bale would be the dream

This would be brilliant, firstly because Eriksen is a fantastic player and secondly to see the backpedalling from so many fans who have been so quick to dismiss him. Personally I still think he'll go though, it'd be difficult to go from the mindset of wanting a new challenge, to wanting to commit to another 4 years at Spurs.

Rose has earned a new contract, but the terms obviously have to be reasonable for both parties. I hope he stays and we have him and Sessegnon rotating at LB (sorry, Ben).

Bear in mind, when the rumours that he was looking to leave first started coming out, he was said to only be holding out for one particular club and that, failing an approach from that club, he would recommit to Spurs. I think he'll OK if he does stay.

Also another important and influential point is CE would have been looking at the RM team and expecting to walk straight into the side. Whereas now they’re splashing the cash, boosting their squad and for CE putting him more in ‘squad’ role. Christian wants to know play, not end up like a lot of other stars to go to Real only to find they rarely feature.

VJ and GKN - Time to cut our losses? No one wants to buy them, they must be costing us at least £5m per year in wages between them - Assets written off, time to release on a free?

Positive if Eriksen stays, but surely no chance we strengthen all required positions if he does.

May not be a popular decision, but even though I enjoy Rose both as a player and a character, he's way past his best physically and will only get worse. We haven't got a particularly young squad anymore, and getting a younger LB in to rotate with Davies would probably make sense, as long as it's not the left sided version of Aurier.

Rose would be the ideal mentor for Sessegnon.

Don’t want to get in trouble. So I will say this once, and comment no further! As I believe it is imperative to KILL talk ‘it will effect our spending’ IT WILL NOT!!!

If I make a quip suggesting it won't have an effect as we won't spend regardless, will that save 3/4 pages?

What I'd personally love to see if Lo Celso/Ndombele in, Eriksen stays for a season signing a new deal and has a Modric esque season which leads to him getting his dream move and us getting a whole lot more money.

As much as I'm selfish and want top players to stay at Spurs forever, I'd be very sad for Eriksen if he doesn't get his dream move at some point.

So many great available left backs out there?
