£50-60 Million for AWB ( with Aurier leaving for £25-30 and Trippier £25) would be excellent business. Having AWB and KWP pushing each other for starting RB would be great to see.
If KWP was good enough to be our second choice RB (which in a Poch team means playing a lot), he would have played more this season. I still hope he makes it for us, but it would definitely be a gamble. The safer option would be to hang on to Trippier for another season, but still sign AWB.

After all, even Trippier has come out recently and said he expects more from himself...and he has already been performing at a higher level than KWP.

Haven't seen much of Bogle this season but he was bodied by Anwar El Ghazi for Villa's first goal in the Playoff Final. Horrendous defending from him.

He did have a great cushioned header that set up Derby's goal, however.

Kid certainly has a lot of experience and talent for an 18 year old, but I'm hoping we go for a ready made first choice RB if we offload Tripps and Aurier since we already have KWP as a backup.

Alan Hutton is now available on a free..........

AWB is a bit of a risk given just one season in the prem but he has all the attributes for poch to turn him into a world class FB, other than him I’ve not seen us linked with barely any rb’s never mind ones who may be better options than AWB. He has pace youth prem experience positioning strength and he’s homegrown just depends if we have the dolla to do a deal with palace who are notoriously stubborn sellers so could be tricky.

I just don’t think there is any chance this will happen. I’m sure we probably have some interest but the fact Palace’s chairman hates us, doesn’t want to sell, and even if AWB rocked the boat would probably ask a stupid price for a RB. Means there is zero to no chance of this happening.

Why does he hate us?

To me, Herc saying that KWP is very much in our plans basically confirms this is dead. The kid would be nuts to stay here if we brought in a new player the same age as him on a huge fee and huge wages. There's a big difference between being the young gun learning and waiting in the wings, and just flat out being second or third choice.

Fortunately, you don't have to buy the most expensive flavor-of-the-year in the league to get a good fullback. Look at what Liverpool were able to do with Robertson. Let's find that player and blow our budget on N'Dombele and Lo Celso.

Don’t think that 1st paragraph would be the case at all. If we bought AWB, it means both Trips and Aurier are gone, which means KWP would be the backup RB. The backup RB is going to get plenty of minutes, and he might prefer being backup RB at his home club in the upper echelons of football than being a starter down in the championship.

There’s certainly a lot of merit to your 2nd paragraph. I don’t feel the best about our ability to properly scout fullbacks after picking Aurier when we had 6 months to get it right last time, but hopefully we can do better this time.

Palace's chairman (Parrish) did a piece about a month ago massively praising us for shaking up the european elite this season. Doubt he'd do that if he held a grudge...

We could easily sell Trippier and Aurier this sumer. And have AWB and KWP rotate in the battle of the initialisms.

How is his crossing? I envy the hell out of Liverpools fullbacks.
You know, I was thinking about this the other day. It can't just possibly be their fullbacks. It's also the system, right? The way they attack the 18-yard box permits their fullbacks and midfielders to cross the ball into the box early and often. Our system either doesn't allow for that, or our fullbacks are completely incapable of delivering an early cross. Something tells me it's probably a mixture of both... for us and Liverpool. With that in mind, I'd love to see how a Trippier would play at Liverpool under Klopp. Would he still be reticent to cross the ball more early and with greater frequency, or would their system allow him to do the opposite?

Don't get me wrong, Liverpool's fullbacks are clearly very talented chaps. But I do think the system they play in helps.

Same reason many chairmen "hates" us; Levy is a pain to deal with and most rather not.

Or Parish is just trying to get maximum value for his players, and doesn't hate us any more than any other big club trying to pick off his prize assets. The price is the same for every PL club that enquires about his players. Probably doesn't fit the anti Levy narrative which is why fans choose to look straight past it

KWP was considered a better player than AWB for pretty much his whole youth career and started ahead of him at every England level. Now after sitting on our bench while AWB plays, he's not even been selected for the Euros he helped to qualify for. If we sign Bissaka, for a (for-now) club record 50 million pounds and 60-70k/wk minimum (because City or Utd would easily pay him that), we're not asking KWP to be a backup for a while while he learns and physically develops, we're saying we don't expect him to ever become good enough to start.

I think it's great for the league that the "smaller" clubs refuse to sell and/or demand top money for their players. Regardless, Levy being a pain to deal with is also something we hear often.

So he's a traditional full back, in that he is primarily a defender. Personally I prefer this, having always been more inclined towards the Vedran Corluka's of this world to the Kyle Walkers... a defender who defends, and enables the winger; Aaron Lennon for example.

However as the Tifo summary points out, we play a heavily possession and press game, which demands more flexibility and high technical ability. If a player like Wan-Bissaka came in then it would suggest either a system change (which I would kind of welcome tbh) or that Poche imagines he can develop Bissaka's game. Conversely, Trippier had such a high crossing percentage at Burnley because Dyche plays a cautious style which demanded a lot of crosses from deep into target men.

So how he plays at his current club doesn't necessarily inform his full application.
