I get your point, but B Silva wasn’t a typical CM when they signed him.

My guess is they (a) feel they need greater physical presence in midfield (b) see him as an excellent prospect who it would make sense to invest in anyway (c) they could well convert him in time

They’re a massive threat here IMO
I know it’s off topic, but B Silva was used as a wide player.

Ndombele needs to ask himself if he wants to play every week or rotate.

Let’s be honest, he’s back himself to start regularly, and the chance to play in (probably) the worlds best side for a lot more money is not one he’d turn down

Yeah possibly, city dont strike me as a settle for option b, im sure theyll get their man.
I'm sure they will too, but doesn't hurt to try and see if they'll come down in price. Even though they have all the money in the world it's not great business to just pay asking price first go. They know if they want him they can pay that money if needed.

ITK post mortem:

‘We had agreed terms with the player who was keen, just agreeing price with Aulas...but then City came in late and blew us out of the water. No ones fault.

Poch is disappointed but there are other irons in the fire and there is money to spend, keep the faith!’

...you know it!

Marty McFly.
I thought he never ventured beyond October 21st, 2015...

On topic: It would seriously piss me off to see Citeh nab N'Dombele. But they do need a new DCM as Gundogan is running his contract down... Get it done ASAP, Levy.

Having not seen much of Ndombele, would he fit into an increasingly likely Maurizio Sarri set up Juventus side? I gather he would just play the Barkley/Kovacic role?

I see him as a ballcarrier/ball winner like Sissoko, however a much better passer. Can really spot through balls and hit on runs.

I thought Gundogan was Pep's favourite.

I don’t know but NDombele hasn’t impressed me. Have had doubts in my mind about this one. Wonder why everybody has been creaming themselves. Not fretting over this. I’d prefer someone who is more mobile and with a better first touch and to suggest he is worth 87m quid or whatever makes me laugh. Plus the fact he is Lyon stinks the whole deal up to high heaven. I can see us getting ripped off big time.

He certainly has a value that isn't worth going over. Nice player, quick feet but it's a lot of money for someone that I'm not totally convinced about. Honestly I think c£50m is a decent deal for all involved by Lyon will never go for it. That's the issue as far as I can tell. We identify players that we like, the selling club puts a silly price on their head and we then back away leaving most of our fans in disgust.

I like Nldombele but he definitely has a limit when it comes to his realistic valuation.
