With so much money at stake I do wonder what 'dark arts' could be used to shift such a player. Blackmail, sacking, etc. I hope Bale is well protected if this gets nasty.
It'll be interesting to see how it plays out, don't think I've seen a situation quite like this before.

Bale due to receive £90m in wages over the next 3 years.

Madrid only hope is United coming in with at least a 4 year contract.

It’s 39 pages because people keep posting the same crap over and over.

It goes in a cycle. First someone says he’d be a great signing, then someone says “don’t do it to yourselves.” Then someone says he’s injury prone and too expensive. Then someone says he’s not injury prone. Then someone suggests this will only happen if he takes a pay cut. Then someone talks about those fake twitter quotes. Then someone else points out they are fake. Then someone says he’s still world class.

Then the cycle begins again.

Totally overlooking the issue about his hair. :sneaky:

I don’t think any club is stupid enough to help Real with their Bale problem. The longer they’re left to sweat, the more problems it causes them, then it becomes harder to start Galacticos 2.0 or 3.0 or whatever iteration they’re on now

Agreed. No sane club would pick up Bale on a free on his current wages, let alone give them a transfer fee for the honour.

They've got a £100m liability in respect of an asset they won't use, they f-ed up, the best they'll be able to do is reduce it.

People keep mentioning Bales wages of 600k, people need to take into account that in Spain footballers pay around 52% tax on their wages, therefore Bale realistically earned around 300k a week.
I believe it's a lot lower in the UK but dont hold me to that. If that's the case, any possible future clubs would be looking at around 300-400k in wages (still ridiculous).
If Utd offload both Sanchez and Pogba I reckon he'll end up at Utd, if not I can see it being a possibility of us getting him on loan and paying 50% of his wages. Time will tell.

In reality, we're linked with Bale but will probably end up with Malcom. We've been linked with N,dombele when in reality we'll probably end up with Gomes.
I just cannot see Levy paying big money and big wages to the types of players that we need to take the next step (hope I'm proven wrong).
We'll end up buying players with potential and hoping that they fit!

Earnings over £150 000 p.a here in UK, and I think I'm right in stating you pay 45% tax.

I have a feeling that the 600k may be after tax or with very little tax payed. IE via a PSC.

Yep

Up to £12,500 p.a. = 0%
Basic rate £12,501 to £50,000 p.a. = 20%
Higher rate £50,001 to £150,000 p.a = 40%
Additional rateover £150,000 p.a. = 45%

so yes its 45% unless there is some "special footballer" tax arrangement but i doubt that exists!

I don't think it would be as simple as that as he is a director of a Ltd company as well so he can manage his tax/income!

Would he be taxed in Spain on whatever Real pay him, then in the new country based on what he’s getting there? Or does the loaning club pay Real and they pay him whatever their contract is?
