With so much money at stake I do wonder what 'dark arts' could be used to shift such a player. Blackmail, sacking, etc. I hope Bale is well protected if this gets nasty.

I'd bring him back in a heartbeat, if I thought we'd be getting back the same player (or better) that left. But I don't think I want a player, who's happy enough to just hold out and play golf, for a principle and cash. I'm not saying he's right or wrong in his stance, but you have to question his motivation to play football now. I think he really is happy enough to just play golf.
He's won everything, and whoever Bale plays for next, will not get the same hungry player of 6/7 yrs ago imo.

I think he could be forgiven almost for losing the love of playing football. The guy has gone to the biggest club in the world, made massive contributions to win the biggest trophies and all he has to show for it is hate (and a big bank balance)
So you make a good point.

There's absolutely no way he's staying there considering the way he left the pitch after the game last night and who can blame him? The treatment he's received is absolutely disgusting and completely undeserved. He's just about the most inoffensive player in the game, I just can't understand it. There is no justification for it.

At this rate it seems like a loan similar to what James Rodriguez did would be best for everyone. Hopefully Spurs can find a way to do a 2 year loan. They will get some of his wages off RM's books and we wouldn't have to pay out a lump sum fee outside of a small loan fee we can probably negotiate down to less than 10m

Anyone suggesting that deal isn't worth doing is deluding themselves IMO. He would instantly makes us a better team. Bale is a game winner, plain and simple. Him and Kane together would make one of the most lethal, attacking duos in world football.

I don’t think this will drag out tbh. Madrid know how much it s going to cost to get him off their books and they’ll want to minimise that as much as possible by getting rid asap. No side in their right mind will buy Bale outright which is why we have heard about the loan move from the Spanish press.

IF the stuff about him not adapting to life out in Spain (which could be bollocks made up from the press), I can’t see him wanting to move to a different league other than the PL.

IMO theres only 2 teams that would get him. 1 has a massive pot of money and are stupid enough (Utd), or there’s us. I think Madrid would rather heavily subsidise a loan back to us rather than let Utd have him. Especially if it means him helping them back into the CL. Both Madrid and Utd are competing for sponsorships and fan bases off the pitch. I’m just hoping that Utd don’t make them an offer that tempts them.

I wouldn't rule out Liverpool or City.

Seems his position is untenable at Madrid. Only he knows if he wants to play football elsewhere and prove a point or hang around for the money.

Perhaps Zidane knows that his heart simply isn't in it anymore.

Two world class players playing together, would be a sight to see!

Opposition backlines wouldn't know who to double-team. Then there's Son/Alli/Moura for them to worry about too.

The only way i'd take him back is on a pay as you play deal, and that aint for happening.
I like what we have now, in regards to the team, as to what we did have when Bale was here.
He is too prone to injury, and is way too expensive for us.
He wont go to united as whats the point in going to a side with no CL football, so it will probably be Bayern, and he will do well there plus they are in need to fill a few holes with Robben and Ribery leaving.

Pay as you play deal? God we going to disrespect him like that? If he plays 30 games in all competitions for us he will make a difference in almost all of those. Whether he scores, assists or simply gives the defense enough to worry about that Kane & co get more space themselves to score and create! Plus for what it is worth he has been involved in 42 Games this season 29 being in the league, could have been 43/30 however Zindane refused to play him against Betis.

I don't think he has any "attitude problems" real just need him off their books and need to pressure him out. Look at how he is when he plays with wales, still full of passion and commitment.

I'd love it we some how managed to get him back but I really don't know if it will happen. I'm really intrigued to see how it all plays out though.

How have you possibly came to that conclusion? Quite possibly the weirdest shout I've seen on here.

If there is a deal to be done then we do it. I also don't buy into paying him more than others will upset the dressing room - he's a world class player who has won 4 CL titles and can take us to a whole other level. As much as our squad has done well, there is no player that can come close to those achievements.

Plus, if players want to win things then they will gladly see Bale walk through the door regardless of wage, he's a superstar without a Ronaldo ego

Because of injury record, there is a reason why Madrid are looking rid. It look easier to sell him whilst injury free and it looks like a falling out.
If they are looking for a new approach to the new season, why is the likes of Modric and Benzema not being linked away.
I think Bale is done physically. It all about Madrid getting rid now at whatever cost.

Indeed - plus international matches. And In the 17/18 season he was involved in 39 matches for Madrid- the same number as Kane has played for us this season.

Hasn’t the “injury prone” line been proven to be inaccurate? He’s missed something like 75 games over the last 6 years. I’m sure the info is earlier in this thread.

Debatable if he is done injury wise. He is still a commanding presence. But in 2 years he’ll be back with the carthorses. Sad what age does to you.

They have a team of mega galacticos all reaching their use by dates at the same time. They squeezed value out of Ronaldo but his legs are going followed by the likes of Marcelo, Modric, Benzema, Kroos, Romero all in that 29-30+ age group. Yesterday’s men taking one last look before they exit.

That’s a fucking expensive bunch to replace even for Real. Jovic is no Ronaldo. Isco is no Modric in his prime. Welcome back to earth you ****s! LOL.

Yep. 23 games in the last 2 seasons - which is exactly same number Dele Alli has missed in the last 2 seasons, and just 2 more than Kane has missed in the last 2 seasons.

Fair enough he's a lot older therefore potentially more injury prone going forward. There's also the possibility Madrid know something we don't regarding longstanding problems. But this whole injury prone thing has been blown way out of proportion in peoples minds.
