Ive booked up hotels and flights with no ticket and will wait to see if there are any left over at the end of the week. Thinking of going regardless at the moment but might change my mind if I can cancel things and get my money back.

Can someone clear this up for me please.

I’ll prefix this by saying I’m NOT selling my ticket.

1. If I got my ticket, picked it up at Spurs with the ID & passport etc as we’re apparently supposed to next week, then decide not to go due to an emergency or something, am I right in saying I can’t sell it or give it to anyone because Spurs would have already sent the details of the ticket holder up to Spain.

2. Can I purchase my ticket tomorrow and then give/sell it to someone straight away so they have to collect it at Spurs and show their ID etc. But again is this even possible as it’d be my name on the ticket and my mate’s ID.

3. Following on from number 2, if your season ticket is in someone else’s name because they stopped going years ago and sold it on to you (which I know is very common) then how do they sort out ID when getting the tickets or getting to the final etc.

If anyone can be arsed to answer I’d be grateful. Ta.

There's a few threads on the Champions League Final, but now the club have officially started selling tickets, would love to find out who's actually got their ticket and will be going to the game. (y)

1. Correct.

2. No. You'll have to show your own ID, and it will have to match the name of somebody on the same order (so if you buy two tickets, one being for another ST Holder in your network who also has enough points, only one of you has to show up with ID to collect both tickets).

3. Having a Season Ticket in somebody else's names is against the terms and conditions. If you've stopped going, then it should simply not be renewed so that it can be offerred to the next person on the waiting list. If somebody admits to having done this they risk having their ST terminated permanently, and obviously with the incorrect name they have no way of collecting the CL tickets unless they can convince that person or someone on the same network to pick it up for them.

Cheers for answering.

I’d put money on around 10% of all ST holders having someone else’s name.

Re the not being able to sell, I was sent a link to stub hub yesterday that shows tickets for sale for up to £10K! That’s why I asked this really, how can they possibly go if their name isn’t on the ticket?

There's a few possibilities. One is that they're fake - you pay £10k and get nothing! Two (probably the most likely) is that they're out of the 50% of tickets not allocated to either club - those given to sponsors, premium packages, general public, different UEFA associations etc. Three is that it's fans who are going to pick them up with their own ID and then sell them - there might be some checks in Spain, but you might get away with a ticket that has the wrong name once you've managed to collect it.

Has to be the third one, but that goes against what we were saying about my original point 1 re not being able to sell them. Just wondering if it’s as simple as saying ‘my friend fell ill so gave the ticket to me’ type thing to the Spanish. Not sure it’d be that easy in Spain though.

There were lots of tickets for sale, can’t imagine they’d all be fake.

Well 'mi amigo' is Spanish for 'My friend', so that's got you started Bomber... I can't help with the rest as I don't think ticket fraud was part of the syllabus.
You can thank the comprehensive school system for that little nugget.

I cant see logistically how they can do additional ID checks at the ground before the game. Imagine the staffing required to check 16k fans on either side of the ground when everyone is in a rush/drunk trying to get in pre match etc. Sure at certain away games you had to collect in country pre match in person with a view to avoiding trouble, but again that was before the afternoon of the game so it could be managed.

The advice reads you have to have a member with ID to collect your group tickets from the club ticket office and that is it. Or at least thats how I am interpreting it.

This is on the Liverpool CL ticket info.

"If the season ticket holder, Member or fan card holder eligible to buy the ticket is not attending the game, the details of the person you are giving your ticket to must be provided on the online form. "

Not sure names will be on the tickets issued by Spurs, doubt if Spurs are actually printing the tickets would assume it's done by UEFA or Athletico .
Also if Liverpool are saying it's OK to pass on a ticket as long as you give the name you are passing too surely they would have cleared this with UEFA.
