If we were as close to getting Martial as ITK said I think he is a gamble worth taking. Then we wont need a kane back up

He may have signed a new contract but for him to be dropped from squad without a reported injury means stock has fallen. Plus if they genuinely think he has an attitude problem they wouldn't be so adverse to selling to us. Then it's down to Poch to work his magic on him

On the other hand, looking at the way UTD are rotting from the inside out and Martial is clearly part of the problem, I’d rather Martial stay well clear from our club.

French captain can keep him in check if he seriously wants an international career. Whilst we are at it we should sign Rabiot and a therapist

Yeah I really like him. He's not really the typical La Liga CM either. He's quite pacy and you can him beating a man and carry the ball high up the pitch by simply sprinting past the opposition. + He has that south american silky touch. (...yeah I'm still talking about fotball here)

Would be very interesting to see him in the prem and even if don't manage to sign him I'm encouraged that we're targeting players of his ilk.
I’d probably most liken him to Kaka in style, but with more bite.

As JJ alluded too, they use the dart board technique. Or throwing shit at a wall until it sticks if you prefer that term. I’m sure we’ve mentioned a few genuine targets in this thread too, seems as we’ve suggested almost every young player with potential in here. :ROFLMAO:

We do mock almost every newspaper hit really it's the journalists we need to monitor

Sounds like you put a lot of faith in "working his magic" and "keeping in check". That's not really the kind of personalites I'd want...

A club like us cannot buy the perfect player without some baggage. How much disruption can 1 player cause in a squad with excellent team spirit? He will have something to prove to the world. If he flops with us then the player will know he is just not as good as he thinks he is

I'd happily have a player with less ability than Martial, but with the right attitude. If it was that easy to choose between players that is.

If we were as close to getting Martial as ITK said I think he is a gamble worth taking. Then we wont need a kane back up. Issue is can Son be just as effective from the right as he is on the left? He seems to be at his best from the left like Martial. Unless we play martial in a 2 with kane

One of Poch's strengths is that he doesn't waste time on players who don't have the right attitude to go along with either realised or potential ability - he knows that there is nothing a manager can do if the right character is not there

Here is what Marca are saying about Ceballos, Bale and Llorente.
I am still not sure about Bale. On his day he's one of the best wide forwards there are but unless he takes a huge pay cut or Real M. pay part of his salary it's not gonna happen. Besides, he's still very injury prone, and he's been run down physically at Real M. where they demand their player to play through pain-barriers (and they get paid really well to do so)...

https://www.marca.com/en/football/real-madrid/2019/05/06/5cd0436622601d765b8b45c2.html

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has already begun having private chats with his squad to inform them whether they will be staying at the club next season.

Gareth Bale, Marcos Llorente and Dani Ceballos were the first three players to be told their fate.
It appears that all three have been made aware that they are surplus to requirements under Zidane and should fully expect to be moving on in the summer.
Bale, with whom Zidane has had limited contact since his return to the club, was the first to receive the news that he would not be needed next season.

The Welshman was considering staying at the club once Zidane resigned the first time around, but it looks like the writing could be on the wall for Bale this time around.
Bale was left out of his side's clash with Villarreal, and it looks like his relationship with Zidane is beyond repair.
Llorente and Ceballos were two of the other players who first came to know of their future at the club.
Neither have featured consistently this season and just like Bale, they know that they are on borrowed time at the club.
Since Zidane's return, they have hardly been given any playing time and as such, have been made available for transfer.
Marcelo is reportedly another player who was ushered into his coach's office to discuss his future, but unlike the aforementioned players' futures, everything points to the fact that the Brazilian will be seen in a Real Madrid shirt again next season.
There are still two weeks left before the players go on holiday and it is widely expected that the rest of the squad will be called into Zidane's office in order for him to let them know whether they are in his plans or not.

Well, Billing have refused to play for his club for a while and couldn't be bothered about the end of season lap of honour. Not saying his attitude will be the same at Spurs, but .....

Really? The players who are not following Huddersfield to the championship are left out. I can understand that decision.. playing with the players whom they will be using next season, but I doubt Billing or Zanka (jørgensen) for that matter are refusing to play. They probably just said they didnt want to play in the championship.

According to the Sun, Ole Gunnar has a problem with Martial's attitude in training. Can't see Poch going for a player like that, if true. When Poch arrived , the poor trainers / those who didn't like the training approach were out pretty quickly
The Utd fans can't stand him as he's notoriously lazy, he's on huge wages and just signed a new contract. Martial is about as unlikely as it gets.

I just watched the whole video and watched the clock tick down expecting it to do something magical, yet when I went to the transfer rumors and ITK thread it wasn’t open? :cautious: Is this how Poch has felt on deadline day the last 2 windows:whistle:

Btw, it's been "reported" - or rather rumoured - that Juve's also after Trippier (him and Sidibe) now. If that is true then there seem to be competition for him, which will drive up the price and I hope Levy plays his cards right.
Spurs should go after Aaron Wan-Bissaka - but if Man Utd do the same then Spurs won't stand much of a chance. But at least they tried.
Well, thus said, I don't want CP to help Spurs to a ransom either.
