Lots of talk in the last week about an "overhaul" here at Spurs with a number of outlets stating as many as 12 leaving. They've also mentioned that there may be some surprises.

Guys like Janssen, Llorente, GKN, Wanyama, Eriksen, Toby & any of our fullbacks wouldn't amount to any surprise.

I believe one of them may be Lamela, which may not be surprising to many, given that he has had troubling physical issues during his spell here. But Poch's been quite loyal to him.

Maybe more controversially, I feel another may be Dier.
For the most part he's been a real asset to us both on field & off. His versatility has given us more flexibility in how we approach games & helped us change tactics without having to make substitutions going from the back line to midfield & vice versa. But he has been out more of late than ever before. Maybe Poch feels it's time to cash in on him & get more of a technical player.

With Lamela we may be able to get as much as £20M +/= a few million.
As for Dier, can we get £40-50M? A year ago there were quotes of much higher.

Could that money help us buy someone like Ndombele?
He'd give us a similar steel in midfield but with far more drive & threat going forward.
I feel it's worth it to push Juve for him. They've already parted with quite a bit of money for other players. How much more than the quoted £60M could they afford?
More importantly, do Spurs believe that is being 'brave'?

Just a thought.

Dier’s a great cash generator as we would get a handsome fee for him. He doesn’t suit our high press, he’s already stated he doesn’t want to play centre back and we’ve Foyth who’s more mobile, a lot younger, talented and covers all the positions Dier plays - RB, CB, DM. He’s a ready made replacement for Dier. Selling Dier and bringing in an athletic CM makes loads of sense.

I'm not really aboard the Sessegnon train either. I know he's young and has potential and is home grown etc etc but I've no idea what position he plays for starters. If he's a wingback he needs to be a shitload better defensively and if he's an AM I don't know where he fits in our setup. By the time he reaches his potential this current team could well be history, and I'd rather we went for a ready to roll player like Grimaldo or Telles. We need to buy some ready made players if we want to proprerly challenge the top tier, otherwise we're in a permanent state of flux.
THIS.

If it's true that Ziyech is available for a £25m release clause, we should be all over it.

17 goals and 18 assists from the right wing - perfect replacement for Lamela.

Dier stays for me - WC/injury hit campaign but he should stay as long as:
1. signs a new deal
2. is open to Poch's ideas re: his best position

Think he could be one of the surprise exits if these conditions aren’t met.

Honestly can’t see such an overhaul that includes selling Dier if Eriksen & Toby were to go.

I do think Sessegnon has something about him even if I kinda agree with some of the assessments in here. I do think he'd have a good chance at realising that early potential with us if it did happen.

With so much to do this summer I'm just kinda against taking a punt on Sessegnon, unless the price is a no brainer. We need to focus the money on more pressing issues. Plenty of better pure LB options on the market such as Grimaldo, Chilwell, and Tierney if we are on the lookout for an upgrade there (I imagine it hinges on Rose's future).

Dier's played so little this season and we have done OK when he's been out. I think we'd let him go for the right money although a year ago that would have been unthinkable.

I don’t think Dier will be going anywhere this window. Partly because he’s a very useful player when fit (I think he could do with shedding a few pounds to be honest - he used to be a lot more nimble) and partly because I really don’t think he’s flavour of the month any more. The big boys aren’t going to pay the money we’d want when Rice looks to have similar ability but is younger and fitter. And I personally doubt he is so fixed on midfield that he would step down to the likes of Everton to prove a point. Without the likes of Man U sniffing around he’ll play where he’s bloody told imo.

No brainer really. I'd be pretty keen on Tagliafico too.

I like Ziyech, especially as a Lamela replacement, but not sure how good he would be as a starter/rotation option instead of the main man. He averages something like over 5 shots a game (to put it in perspective Kane comes in at like 3-4 and Son at 2-3). It's both a testiment to his skill at creating shots and that he immediately gets a shoot chubby the second he is within 40 yards of goal. So yes he would be good but also expect a lot of swearing when we're 2-1 down and he's shooting from 30 yard while Kane is open in the box.

Wow - a front three of Son, Kane and Ziyech would be formidable.

His 18 assists suggest to me that he would be more likely to spot Kane open in the box than shoot from 30 yards.

I completely agree with this. Think this summer would be a perfect time to sell Dier.
He is good cover but is not good enough in midfield for our game

So, to make sure your simple mind do understand: in some cases, yes, a player may not have international matches and yet be a good player to buy for Spurs but the Danish team is not abundance of top class CB.

Thanks @Spurrific for the rating (y)

Actually if there is one place where the Danish team has an abundance it's on the CB position. Has been so for a long time. So you shouldn't judge a player's potential or quality strictly from the lack of games for Denmark.

He does but he also averages 3.8 key passes a game, in comparison, Eriksen's most creative season, he averaged 3.3 and this season, Eriksen averages 2.2.

Spurs fans when a good player is linked to us in the media - "Its probably all just paper talk I wouldnt believe it until something concrete comes out."

The same spurs fans when the media links the same player to other clubs "Its being reported so it must be right..he is 100% going there and is not realistic for us anymore."

Rinse and repeat

3/4 of those aren't good enough IMO.
