Wouldn't be too disappointed if he left if we could get a stronger, more aggressive forward as a replacement. Far too passive in games for me.

If ITK is correct and it’s Madrid or us then perhaps Madrid is becoming close to being off the table. Seems like the Hazard to Madrid deal is getting closer.

Didn't ITK recently suggest it's Barca, not RM who he actually wants?

That’s who he’s always wanted and he’s been quite public about that in the past. It’s why I’ve always been dubious about him going to Madrid. Obviously it would be hard for him to turn them down though.

We can’t let it drag on all summer, although we probably will. He needs to sign a new deal with us by the end of June or we sell.

I think his situation has been largely responsible for the times when he's appeared to just "switch off" for some games. Indecision regarding the future can play a large part in motivation.
Hopefully this can be resolved quickly and with a new contract in his back pocket we shall see more consistency in his performances next season.
I'd like to see him stay but if not then we'll survive.....(y)

If he stays, I’d like to see more consistency from him. I’d also like to see him take a useful corner kick! Plus he needs reminding that he used to score from free kicks. Maybe some regressive hypnotherapy is required? ?

Hypnotise him by all means...then convince him he's Lionel Messi !!

I disagree with the suggestion that he goes 'missing' in some games. He never does that. Sometimes he has days where its not working for him but he's always in the thick of it trying, and he runs his ass off every game. and as for having bad days, so does everyone.

I think the ‘days where its not working for him’ is just your watered down interpretation of what everyone else calls ‘inconsistent’. That’s why Barca have probably lost interest in him, thank eff! Until we can actually find a playmaker to replace him, I’m more than happy for him to play for us, a bit inconsistent or not.

No I've said he has the odd bad game cos that's all it is. He's very consistent for the role he plays compared to most. I appreciate him on his bad days cos I can see him trying.

Tabloid speculation into what he wants or where he might go is just that, speculation from 'journo's' who are guessing. Nobody knows anything so i wouldn't fall for any of the shite that's written about it. I expect we'll do everything we can to keep him (within reason) because that's the sensible thing to do for such a good player.
