Sitting down doesnt stop you from bloody singing though does it - it doesn't detract from the atmosphere football has changed standing is a thing of the past

Sitting doesn't stop you from joining in with songs, but I have never felt as involved or as part of something much bigger sitting down.

I couldn't say why I feel like that, just the same as when we score a goal most fans will stand to celebrate a goal, not sit to celebrate... We could all sit and chear the goal, but it just doesn't feel the same.

The South stand was designed for the purpose of creating a wonderful atmosphere, most people in that want to stand... Your point of 45000 is pointless as the South stand doesn't represent those figures

If you don't like standing fair enough, but go and sit in other parts of the stadium

Do you really believe that the majority of fans in the south stand want to stay seated??
If you think so you are deluded

You've completely missed the point. She hasn't said anything about the South Stand or suggested that people there shouldn't stand. Her only issue is you insulting the fans who aren't in the South stand.

Never in a million years do I think people in the south stand want to be seated! I've never said that. I even said earlier that people who want to stand should be able to and people who want to sit should be able to. My objection to your comment was that you imply that anyone who is in any of the other stands, and doesn't want to stand is a boring fart.

Sitting down and signing just doesn’t work. I tried it for the Huddersfield game after @nailsy s comment. You just can’t get into the game as much than when you are standing. Also sitting then standing then sitting gets really fucking annoying.

I agree with you here. Standing in a crowd singing does make you feel more involved. I can't imagine staying seated to celebrate a goal.

I doubt it's something that youd get used to in a single match if you've stood for years, but fair play to you for giving it a go. Just out of interest where were you sat?

Oh it wasn’t the first time I’ve been sat. I used to have a membership so I was regularly in sitting areas.

I guess I just thought about it more as I was sitting. I kept imagining a singer trying to perform on stage sitting down .

I’m Paxton lower behind the goal. West Ham is going to be really embarrassing if we have to sit. Not sure I’ll last the game!

I have to sit in the south stand as everyone around me does which is starting to really annoy me especially as the lady in front of me (if you can call her that) has not watched more than ten minutes of football yet as she is continually on the phone, why did people like this buy tickets in this stand !! I think they should do some sort of ticket amnesty at end of season and allow people to move in and out of the stand to make the south stand what it is meant to be.

I was thinking about singers on stage as well. Ive seen loads of singers perform sitting down, but it's usually for the slower, less energetic songs. I'm sure we could still generate a good atmosphere sitting down, but it wouldn't be the same as seeing a wall of people bouncing.

Some people can sing while seated and still feel a part of it. I know I did majority of second half v City as my knee was giving way. Sitting and singing isn't for everyone, and some people do want to sit and some HAVE to sit.

But to call those who wish to do so boring old farts is rather childish. We all want to see our team at the new ground, despite our own issues whatever they may be.

Acoustic mtv session. Not a bombastic full on nirvana gig.
People can sing sitting down but it's much louder and, imo, fun standing.

I said the same thing a few posts up.

As you say that is your opinion. I have fun both sitting and standing. Others have to sit and that does not make them any less passionate fans. Thankfully I'm not permanently bound to sit, it's only temporary. However, I had fun doing both, whilst still enjoying and adding to the atmosphere against City.
