I agree but i could not give a hoot! Some rules are silly in my view. And you will find that despite that rule that their are many stadiums in the uk that choose to overlook standing in certain parts of the ground and guess what? They just so happen to be where the most atmosphere is created. The famous kop, guess what? They stand and jump around no problem.

Look around the world and jot down your top 5-10 stadiums for atmosphere. You will find that all those listed stadiums are lenient towards standing and let fans stand. I want atmosphere and to have the right to stand if i choose. If that is lost then i will watch from the sofa.
Most stadium aren’t 3 games into use with people/the club still trying to find the right way for things to work.

The amount of moaning about this is stupid.

Fact is the rules say no standing so if you do expect to be told not too.

Don’t like it don’t go ??

I wouldn't be surprised if the club was told to crack down on this when the safety certificate was issued.

Although it's against the rules to stand I can sympathize with those in the south stand who were sold the dream of a wall like Dortmund's and then get told to sit down.

Its not complaining its a passing comment on a thread that is relevent to what i have to say. Some 'rules' in life are there simply because the 'have' to but in reality are not necessary.
Id like to take this opportunity to give an example to this. A while ago you posted a comment.......

That’s always been the case yet people have shared ST for years.

They aren’t going to know who is who. I wouldn’t worry

You posted this in reply to somebody who was warning against sharing seain tickets and borrowing somebodys season ticket. You more than most should well know the rules on such topics;).

Rules, rules
Spurs are actively telling people to sit down though with stewards.

So the part where I put if you’re standing be expected to be told not too is correct.

Sharing ST happens but if you’re caught you’ll be told not too.

Same situations but one is being actively monitored atm the other isn’t.

I go and stand but when told to sit I do ( i haven’t been told so far in this stadium. ) but I have a bad back myself so it hurts standing so can see why people will complain.

Right now the club have little choice but to try and enforce the rules because i guarantee they are getting lots of feedback by people who want to sit.

Over the next 12 months things will settle down.

People morning at the trust like they can persuade the club to break the rules.

It needs to be allowed by the club but it’s not something that can be asked officially.

As has already been mentioned. It will sort itself out in a few seasons but my fear is that the full gentrification would’ve happened by then.

I want to sit in the South stand, but can't because I wouldn't see the game. They need to get the front rows to sit & the rest will follow.

Been to Palace and today's game and stood throughout (was away for the Man City game but the people I go with said that was exactly the same) - south lower and a ways in so haven't seen let alone heard a steward?

My ST was in the Paxton lower in the old ground so i knew what I was getting when I bought this ST but I can understand why people are upset about standing in other parts of the ground.

I’m in the Park Lane upper. I’d prefer to sit, which is why I didn’t sit in the lower part designated as safe standing but I think the stewards have the wrong approach.
They should let people settle in first. If everyone around me wants to stand, I’ll stand too- we will work it out and we don’t need the heavy handed intervention.

Not the stewards fault though. They'd be happy to let you do what you want, but if they did they'd lose their jobs. They get their orders from on high.

It is a new stadium so is under scrutiny. So the bosses will want them to enforce the rules. After a while it might settle down.

You could pretty much sit down anywhere else in the stadium, at least that’s been my experience so far, bar the odd person here and there, but you have chosen to place yourself in the south stand where historically it has always been an area people stand. I get it’s frustrating when people stand and block your view and you can point to the rules... but did you not do your homework before you got ticket?

You can stand in south lower because it was designed with safe standing in mind. South upper doesn't have that (currently at least). If you're sitting anywhere other than south lower and you persistently stand, expect to be told to sit down, especially in the early days of the stadium. Eventually once it's all settled down south lower should by rights be the standing section and so if you want to stand get a ticket in there if you can.

Not fair on our older fans or kids, if somebody ahead of them is persistently standing.

I was in Park Lane lower today and everybody was stood up, some minor issues from police and stewards. We do have the safety rails though.

Would be interesting if a survey was carried out how many would prefer to stand. I reckon it would be somewhere in the region of 20 to 30 thousand of our capacity.

Id say a little higher than that but perhaps not.
The problem is that as they enforce the sitting those who wish to stand will get fed up and not bother going. This will lead to an influx of newer fans that will inevitably sit and follow. This then leads to the place becoming a library.

Yes i understand that people can sing whilst sitting but in real life for the MAJORITY of people sitting equals relaxing off quite a bit. Problem is more and more people just turn up enjoy the footy whilst sitting in their seat specatating all nicely but they will not contribute to the atmosphere.
Rules are rules but i highly diagree with this one for the south stand.

No season ticket purcase from me next season if i have to sit for the ehole game.
South stand-allow standing
Everywhere else- sit down.

Remaining seated at football is an atmosphere killer in my eyes. Jeez this isnt the old days where people used to sneak in by there thousands and drink on the stands and behave like animals.

Sitting down doesnt stop you from bloody singing though does it - it doesn't detract from the atmosphere football has changed standing is a thing of the past

There are three other stands in the stadium for fans like you to sit and not worry about people standing in front of you
We built the south stand with the hope that it would be the end which creates a wall of noise, not fans that want to sit on their arse, it can't work.
