Well I thought that was excellent. Rode our luck a bit, I’m also not a fan of sitting back, but it’s working and we saw out the half.
We had to sit back today. They were always going to be all over us desperate to attack. What's getting us into needless pressure situations is that when we get possession, we're insisting on playing it out from the back. Need to find a forward pass or boot it up and get back into shape.

What the players have to do is remain on the same page with each other. Tonight we're trying to sit behind the ball and see the game out, but every so often you see one of our players cant resist going for a little half hearted chase after the man and all it does is open up a gap that we're then scrambling to deal with. That's where the majority of their chances have originated from. To play this way you have to be disciplined and focused and stay as a unit.

Our formation in the first twenty minutes really stung us - it didn't work at all and it didn't look like the players were enjoying it either. Lot of stray passes, people not being where they were expected to be, it just wasn't coming together. Credit to the Poch, he called Son over and dropped him back to square up the midfield and while it's practically castrated our attack, what with them putting three ready to pounce Kane the minute he moves, it's done a great job giving us options when passing and occupying their midfielders, so more of the same and a bit higher up the pitch we could be onto something in part 2.

Rode our luck a fair bit, some great last ditch tackles/blocks, and of course Hugo has done the business so far.

Need to be smarter when in posession. Better last 6-7 minutes of that half.

Hopefully they get frustrated and start forcing the issue, leaving us a gao or two to exploit. COYS

Heroic defending. Sissoko in bastard beast mode is a joy to behold.

Think that half will do wonders in the future for our learning in this competition.

Marvellous effort thus far, last ditched at times maybe, but a grand effort against a very, very good attacking Dortmund side.

Watching a Spanish language broadcast, what was the explanation for why the shove on Son was not reviewed by VAR? Is it actually the case that VAR was malfunctioning at the time of the incident?

Not a clear and obvious foul/error from the ref apparently.

I've no hate for Erkisen whatesoever, go through all my posts at will, don't think I've said a bad thing about Eriksen but tonight he is shit

Like I said - we couldn't be set up worse to nullify everything Eriksen brings to our game. He's not been "shit" - he's created our best chances - put Kane and Son through - but we aren't set up for anyone to have time on the ball in midfield. That's his thing. Last ditch defending aint

Time for Sissoko to shine and hasn't he!

Yes but you can see we set up to weather the storm and so far we have so tactically right so far
We've weathered the storm because our keeper has made some great saves and we've done some great last ditch defending, while offering nearly nothing with the ball. The fact that we've changed formation tells you the tactics weren't working.

Lloris in prime form tonight. He has had plenty of issues this season and is sometimes a liability, but in terms of pure reflex-shotstoppers, he's still top 3 in the world, and showing it off here.

Lost count of the amount of time he killed us going forward, I'll disagree with you on that

Dortmund just played a blinder, clearly fired up and trying their damnedest to give their fans something but we've done brilliantly to keep it 0-0. Job done thus far.

Gaps will open up the more desperate Dortmund get and send players forward, hopefully for Son/Kane to exploit.

The most encouraging aspect (apart from the obvious scoreline) is that you could see we became visibly more confident with the ball towards the latter end of the half so I sincerely hope this continues

If we can get to 85 still 3 up then I can finally unclench

Not sure we can even make a sub as you don't really want someone coming in that isn't totally in tune with the pace and pressure bvb are applying

How’s your box of pampers getting on?

Amazing effort being put in by Dortmund. No way they can keep that up for 90 mins. I thought they started to tire towards the end of the half. Half time came at a bad time for us!

Lucas for Eriksen at HT. Could be effective on the break, this game isn't suiting Eriksen's style

And you can't blame Poch for starting two upfront as an on-the-counter goal inside 15 minutes ends the tie. We didn't get it. We were getting over run - he changed it. Well done Poch.
