Got to love the guy. Says that Brexit is like deliberately crashing the car instead of swerving. I will post in Brexit non-Spurs thread but I thought important that people hear this

https://www.independent.co.uk/sport...in-tottenham-hotspur-referendum-a8591976.html

I do love it when a celebrities try to influence the masses. They are always so much more knowledgeable and deserving to preach the masses than us uneducated peasants. I'd love to hear his thoughts on the Falklands and the right to self determination......

Stick to managing the team and looking for and signing the players you needed in the summer ffs Poch.
No need to make any comment on this. I suspect he knows very little about it anyway.

This is such a misinformed post, that it’s untrue. He can comment on what he likes, and the fact that the Brexit shambles has already affected the stadium build, and would affect football generally means it’s well within his sphere of influence to talk about. As for how much he knows about it... How the hell would you know?

That's the problem. Not just with Poch. But celebrities, columnists etc. all around the world. They have heavy influence, especially on the weak minded, and can talk as much shit as they want and because Poch said it, it must be true.

He loosely manages a football team (in truth the modern football manager isn't much more than a glorified head coach) and clearly knows his apples when it comes to football. He has every right to preach about that. I'll wager I know more than Poch about running multi-million IT change management programmes. I'd even go as far to say I have earned the right to preach to the masses about that. Do I have the right to preach to the masses about football? Absolutely not. I happen to believe that I know quite a lot about football but I haven't been involved at the highest level and therefore what I believe is theory and that means I do not have the right to preach about it to the masses. Discuss in a football forum? Sure. Preach to the masses? No.

The only topic that Poch has the right to preach to the masses about is football. That's it.

Like it or not, and Judging by his comments, he appears to know more about this country after 5yrs resident, that the UK is in fact a Parliamentary Democracy, than do many people actually born in these sceptered isles.

Good for him. A thoughtful, intelligent, erudite individual: we're lucky to have him.

So, just like most of the voters then?

Or politicians for that matter. That's not the point. I think we all have football pundits on TV that we think talk utter crap. But whether we think they talk utter crap about football is irrelevant because they've been there, done it and earned the right to air their views to the masses. If Alan Shearer started talking about football, I'd listen. If Alan Shearer started preaching about what it was like growing up in Newcastle when he was a boy, I'd listen. If Alan Shearer started preaching to Londoners about how it was growing up in London when he was a boy I'd tell him to fuck off.

When did Poch start preaching on this? You are characterising it like he has started campaigning on this or something. He was asked a question about Brexit in a press conference and decided to give an honest answer. Since when is that preaching? He's an intelligent guy who has lived in this country for a number of years, and as he lives and works in the UK he will be affected by Brexit as well. He has every right to give his opinion on it when asked in an interview. Anyone has a right to give their opinion on something when they are specifically asked for it, even if they are Alan Shearer...

And that's where we fundamentally disagree. There is a difference between being involved in a discussion and answering a question you know will make headlines. Poch should have kept his mouth shut and concentrated on answering questions about the upcoming match. Off the record he can discuss what the hell he likes.

Utter nonsense.

Not at all. As for his absolute bollocks about consequences, no one knows. No one knows what will happen if we stay in the EU. No one knows what will happen if we leave the EU. Economists are about as good as predicting the economy in six months time as weatherman are at predicting the weather. We may as well all never do anything again if we have to wait around to know.

I'm more interested in hearing his logic as to why his in game management is so piss poor, why he feels he isn't learning any lessons from his previous mistakes and why he seems so married to the idea that most subs can't take place before the 70 minute mark. But I guess his views on Brexit are more important as he is so knowledgeable on the subject.
