I still just find it odd that absolutely no media source has picked up on this at all given there are three clubs involved. Doesn’t make much sense...

It is very strange, but it does seem like Parish (Palace chairman) is trying to play this very carefully, he must know selling Zaha will put their fans in meltdown, and seems he needs the money/wants to let Zaha leave.

There are media links to him, just no mention of bids yet. Only 4 parties can leak these supposed bids - Palace, Chelsea, Us or Zaha's people. My guess is Parish agreed the fee but has asked for time to get replacements in, much like us with Bale.

You'd probably need to give each of them about 8 pints as well to convince them all to join Palace... With a 25% sell on clause Palace will just demand more money to make sure they pocket as much as they can.

Sorry mate, too many words to digest, let's just give them all of our shit and make them think it's a good deal. Me and Mr San Miguel think there's a deal to be had here. Make it happen skinhead!

Exactly... I think i’ll believe it when I see it.

Would welcome the addition though. We no doubt would have to pay over the odds but his ability to produce a bit of magic in tight areas and just bringing some freshness to the squad I think would be worth it.

An ITK said that Man U have a 25% sell on clause with Zaha and Palace clearly need to sell. Surely a more prudent approach to agreeing a deal at around £60m, let's just say is to do a player swap so that you don't miss out on over £15m to invest further.

Carter-Vickers, Sissoko, Nkoudou, Janssen, Edwards, Llorente for Zaha or £60m- £15m gives them £45m. I can't see where they'd get a better crop of players for £45m than we could give them in theory so they don't have to swallow a quarter of the fee to Man United.

It makes sense to me, but then again I have had about 8 pints tonight

Give them Janssen & Sissoko + £30 & it would be plenty.
If fills a couple of their gaps (Cabaye & Zaha) without having to spend.
Furthermore, they'd only have to pass along £7.5M to ManU.

I feel Janssen would thrive there under less pressure.

Then again, seems fee is already agreed so little point in discussing.

EDIT isn't Janssen destined for Fener?

Would work if we were talking Panini stickers.

Just seen this on the Palace forum. Buckets of salt. Supposed source is very interesting!

Hopefully a fake rumor from someone from inside the game, but this guy I know is claiming a deal with us and both Chelsea and Spurs has been agreed for the sale of Zaha. All down to him to choose what he wants to do...

Nothing on social media so I am hoping this is the usual bullcrap you usually see from "someone who knows someone" so I would usually ignore it but this guy regularly socialises with Zola who's his claimed source.....

EDIT: Correction on source, he met Daniel Levy while out with Zola this evening who said it

Lots of people picking up on this now. Either all from the one original source and people are copying eachother or it's gaining pace from numerous sources

Haha so is Levy meant to have confirmed we have agreed a deal for Zaha? Absolute nonsense.

I preferred it before the edit! Just sounds so un-Levy like. Although sounds like the source is Zola's mate so maybe they bumped into Levy and had a quick chat 'best man win, etc...'

(For those that don't know Zola is now #2 at Chelsea)

And despite all summer there being barely any information about our targets other than slitherings, Levy is out letting the assistant manager of our main rival know who we've bid for.

If we’ve offered a better package than Chelsea then I don’t see what choice there is to make. The only thing that worries me is the agent’s fees, which Chelsea are historically more inclined to bend over for than we are.
Absolutely agree with you on the first part - surely a no-brainer if you're Wilf. The second part I'm not sure about - in the past we have paid agents well and Levy actually has good relationships with many. How much power can an agent actually wield though if their client says they want to go to one club over another? They're employed by the player after all.
