If we are offering a better all round package then surely he is our player?
It's not all about money, though. Chelsea are a mess but in recent years they've won major trophies, whereas we haven't. Playing time also a factor - currently we've got Moura, Lamela, Son, Alli and Eriksen all vying for spaces behind Kane.

I'm just playing devil's advocate, though. I think we are in a much better place as a club than Chelsea.

I would think playing time would be the biggest sticking point.

I get your point, but Alli and Eriksen are the only two penciled in behind Kane. Son will miss time and I think Zaha brings more to the table than Moura and Lamela. In Moura's defense, he did not get much run so he might surprise everyone this season.

Im bloody amazed this hasn't broken in the media yet?

Yeah - I always slightly question the authenticity when there’s been absolutely no noise in the media, but who knows?

Hope we tie something up for Grealish and either Martial or Zaha soon. It’s getting silly how long it’s taking

Doesn't Son miss the start of the season? Good opportunity foe Zaha to stake a claim. I also like Son off the bench.

Moura/Son - Eriksen - Zaha behind Kane would be awesome if it happens. And can even throw a third attacker in there instead of Eriksen and drop him back into the two behind those three vs the weaker teams.

I know Poch will give him the 'You sign to train, and train to play' line but I'm sure Zaha would be pretty confident in getting game time considering the fee and wages being offered.

Plus if Poch rates him so highly he'll fit him in.

Depends how easy Zaha wants it I guess. Chelsea would be an easier guaranteed start assuming Willian or Hazard left, but they are coming off a bad league campaign and in transition again.

Even here he knows he'll get a fair crack early on due to Son's international duty.

Will be interesting to see if Palace suddenly start signing players. You'd imagine they'd want to get deep in negotiations for players before this deal goes public. Which probably means a long and worrying wait for us lot!

He can play wide left, right, behind the striker and as a striker. Even if he came in and was a squad player then he would still get enough game time moving between each of those come injury's or resting players.

There are 4 competitions and we need depth.

Crystal Palace have made a move for Danny Ings. Probably unrelated but they need to find money from somewhere for these kinds of bids.

And they have to do them before any Zaha news breaks or else prices will go through the roof.

They've also been linked to Gonalons (CM) at Roma.

Would have thought they'd try and get RLC back, shocked chelsea didn't try and use that as leverage.

I still just find it odd that absolutely no media source has picked up on this at all given there are three clubs involved. Doesn’t make much sense...

An ITK said that Man U have a 25% sell on clause with Zaha and Palace clearly need to sell. Surely a more prudent approach to agreeing a deal at around £60m, let's just say is to do a player swap so that you don't miss out on over £15m to invest further.

Carter-Vickers, Sissoko, Nkoudou, Janssen, Edwards, Llorente for Zaha or £60m- £15m gives them £45m. I can't see where they'd get a better crop of players for £45m than we could give them in theory so they don't have to swallow a quarter of the fee to Man United.

It makes sense to me, but then again I have had about 8 pints tonight

Carter-Vickers, Sissoko, Nkoudou, Janssen, Edwards, Llorente for Zaha or £65m- £16m gives them £49m. I can't see where they'd get a better crop of players for £49m than we could give them in theory so they don't have to swallow a quarter of the fee to Man United.

You'd probably need to give each of them about 8 pints as well to convince them all to join Palace... With a 25% sell on clause Palace will just demand more money to make sure they pocket as much as they can.

If we’ve offered a better package than Chelsea then I don’t see what choice there is to make. The only thing that worries me is the agent’s fees, which Chelsea are historically more inclined to bend over for than we are.
