Well. Seems he's staying now. Hope this means we're still after a CM as he is declining. Can't see us being able to rely on him. Depends on our formation I guess.

I'm wondering if this relates to the Grealish delay. Maybe, just maybe, this changes the plan and we only want one mid rather than two, hence Grealish is on hold. I have no idea though.

If Dembele is going to be used sparingly this season, he could really help our cup runs, especially the league cup and some CL group games, the latter being at a better pace for him to dictate. Just need that CM so Dembele can become a useful support player.

Would much rather we keep him and have him as backup instead of Sissoko.

Ship Sissoko off, keep Master Mousa and have Winks and hopefully Grealish fight it out to see who gets the Belgians crown come the end of the season.

This would also give us another 12 months to scout for a CM when that pool seems limited to the likes of Gomes and inexperienced players such as NDombele at the moment

He'll be much more effective if Winks stays fit and they can share the duties. Lack of alternatives forced us to overuse him last season.

I guess staying is probably still temporary.
Wonder if he will still be here after the Chinese window opens in January?
That’s still another five months of football (probably six as Levy likes a whole window to maximise income through brinksmanship!) and would give Winks time to get fully fit at least.

Can't see us bringing in another central midfielder now. I thought we'd be bringing in a Grealish type and the second would be the Dembele replacement and was dependant on whether he went?

I'm happy to see Moussa stay. He's still the best CM we have and we've got Winks, Onomah and Amos in the wings who could learn a lot from him.

It's the single most obvious position we should be upgrading. We should be doing that. Dembele was clearly a notch down from the year below and his fitness continues to deteriorate. We can't keep relying on him.

But who are we realistically in for that is an actual upgrade? I was very impressed with Amos against Roma. Others rate Onomah and Winks. They can lighten the load on Moussa and one of them may well emerge as his successor.

We should be in for everyone that could be potentially available and would be an upgrade, that's not my job to decide. Onomah has shown nothing that he is ready for this level and Amos looked incredibly average in that game. We should be getting better, it seems like we're stagnating. I know theres still time in the window but its concerning at this point. We have no links to anyone other than Grealish and maybe Zaha? Theres less than 2 weeks!

I think if you believe that Amos "looked incredibly average in that game" we are unlikely to agree. Fair enough, time will tell.

Average/decent/whatever you want to call it, what he showed was hardly enough for me to tout him as the Dembele successor. I just rewatched and he made a lot of passes to fullbacks and center backs. Anyways not the time nor place.

I wonder what has changed, maybe he ran out of time to secure a move to China as he was away at the world cup.
Really hope we bring in a replacement anyway, would be great squad depth to have Mousa on the bench rather than relying solely on him.
