People are forgetting that even though new owners have meant that the debts have been paid, we are still struggling to sign players because of the FFP. We need to sell to buy. Grealish to spurs is as done as any deal can be. But Roma thought that didn't they.

Thanks for the update Journo! Great to see you around here.

Great news for us too - first we’ve heard that from a Villa end they still consider it close to done.

I thought FFP was based on spending as a % of income over several seasons? When you consider THFC income/turnover has increased by nearly £100m in the last financial year and that we haven't spent much net over the last few years, it shouldn't really be a problem in our case.

edit: oops, The Journalist is a Villa fan

When he says 'we', he presumably means Villa, as Journo was always close to Villa in the Benteke days unless I'm much mistaken?

Perhaps @The Journalist can clarify?

I imagine the meeting with Steve Bruce will be good.
"sorry Steve we still have to let Jack go but don't worry because we're sacking you anyway"

Villa are playing West Ham tonight and as it stands, since we've heard no updates, I fully expect Grealish to feature

I have no doubt that Villa could use the new owner ship to change the lay of the land and it my feeling that may irk our chairman and if that is the case I wouldn't be surprised if he went cold and pulled out.

Everyone knows Levy is notorious for his pull out game.
