VJ still has his Twitter set to "Fenerbache player".

Is it harsh that I think of him as a bit of a twat? He was poor for us, but I don't think he shows any remorse for being crap.

Soldado is such a stark contrast

Reminds me of a mad woman I went out with that went mental because I didn't change my Facebook status to "In a relationship" within 24 hours of hooking up with her.

I preferred Jansen to Llorente

Don't get me wrong, they're both bang average.

Really ? Llorente has had a great career at the highest level. Not his fault we don’t play to his strengthens. Jansen was a mistake but every club and every Manager makes those regularly.

I always liked the way Jansen held up the ball and brought others into play - he was a fighter, just unfortunately the poor sod couldn't do the main thing he was brought in to do!

I'm sure he'll have a decent career in Europe.

I don't think Llorente is average.
We do not play at all to his strengths. He benefits from early crosses and providing an aerial threat, but our play is much more on the ground, through balls and with the exception of Tripps, few early crosses.
We are so used to Kane and his excellent - possibly best in the world - hold up play and strength, that we find it hard to change.

Which is why, on paper Janssen appeared to be a reasonable fit but never quite did it in practice (came close though).

Just seen on twitter that Newcastle have made a second bid of £8.5m after their first bid of £7.5m was rejected. Levy wants £10m having recouped £6m from Fenerbahce in loan fees.

Got to feel for Vinny. Think there's a decent striker in there somewhere. But that first season with us killed his confidence in a big way.

So let’s get this straight....we want to offload players and clear squad size but we reject one leaving over £1.5m? You’ve gotta be kidding me.

you'd have taken the 7.5mil and not even negotiated? it's just how negotiation works . we might squeeze another million out of them . that's a lot of money

Janssen doesn't really matter I think because he didn't use a spot last season, but it does seem a bit ridiculous.

Newcastle are haggling with Fulham over Mitrovic too, so hopefully Fulham stump up and we may see movement.
