Zaha is always a massive handful to play against. I would happily take him.

Liverpool game as the example doesn’t show a great end product.

Mo Salah cost £36M there's still bargains to be found.

70M for Zaha I'm reading on some posts please.

Plea or Seri who has a 34 M release clause in today's market is value......dear i even mention Balottelli or Depay

Realistically there's no way on earth we're ever paying £70m for Zaha. By all accounts though it seems like Poch is a huge fan and so if a deal could be done for a more reasonable price then we should definitely explore it.

I do really rate him, but his world profile isn't huge so any massive fee would be more of a risk than buying a higher profile name where there would be a guaranteed resale value.

Salah only cost £34m because he was a pre-Neymar transfer.

Why are you suggesting Balotelli when he's the complete opposite of a Pochettino player FFS.

Transfer fees have been mental for some time before last summer.
FFS, I know that there were still extortionate fees before the Neymar deal - but there was a clear increase in the proportion of deals that were crazy after the £200m Neymar transfer. Bloody hell.

You are aware that Neymar went to PSG last August, correct? Not even a year ago. Crazy deals happened before and happened after. Neymar's transfer has nothing to do with the money moving around in the transfer market.

Since the £200m barrier was broken, it does seem that £140m is now a "normal" transfer value to expect for a lower-World-Class type player

Only in deals revolving the teams effected, everything else was pretty much on the path that things were going. The ridiculous deals you are talking about I'm assuming are Neymar, Mbappe, Coutinho, Van Dijk and Ousmane Dembele, only involving Liverpool/PSG/Barcelona. That love triangle made things seem a lot more jacked up than they were. City and United were spending just like they had before.

If Poch wants him -and it is clear he has wanted him for a while now- pay the money. Quibbling over 20 mill when the greatest manager we have had in decades clearly wants him is playing with the sort of fire we cannot afford to mess with. Remember, too, Sonny is going to have some issues this season, between being overplayed by SK due to the fact he has to try and dodge national service the honorable way, plus a chunk of our squad being late to the new season party due to World Cup involvement. Zaha will be fit and ready to go. Plus he is actually pretty damn decent. A year of Poch coaching him and the lad could be amazing.

Everton enter race to sign Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha as Marco Silva looks to make his first signing
  • Everton are interested in signing Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha this summer
  • Marco Silva is a big fan of the winger and is keen to make him his first signing
  • Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund are also chasing the £70million-rated Zaha
  • Everton are considering selling Yannick Bolaise to fund a move for the Ivorian
Everton are interested in signing Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha this summer.

Marco Silva has been a long-time admirer of the Ivory Coast international and is keen to make him his first signing at the club.

Everton will however have to stave off competition for Zaha, with Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham both understood to hold an interest in the player.

Spurs have been chasing Zaha for a considerable amount of time and are still monitoring his situation despite last week being told they will have to bid in the region of £70million to sign him.

The north London club are looking at alternative options but may test Palace's resolve with a lower offer after Everton joined the race for the winger.

Palace's £70m valuation may also price Everton out, but the club are willing to explore the possibility of selling Yannick Bolaise in order to raise money to fund the move.
