Random question, is the front of the west stand going to be a pedestrian only zone? Stadium is sitting pretty close to the road.

Edit. Looking at pictures, It seems not, but it looks pretty imposing!
No, only the pavement then the road starts, it's the high road so no chance of pedestrianising it.

Cranes will break down into smaller pieces and either will leave via the exits at ground level or i suppose they could be lifted out by the cranes on the out side.

There's some major construction going on in the centre of Watford at the moment, and the other day they were removing a crane from the middle of the site, despite everything that had been built around it.
Even bigger cane outside was being used to life it out in separate pieces.

I'd assume therefore that the same will happen here.

Haringey council / THFC should have built an underpass for the High Road so the front of the stadium was all pedestrianised, in my opinion

This reminds me of the famous Monorail

“Not on your life my Hindu friend”

One of the tower cranes will dismantle the other and a mobile crane will dismantle the remaining one. Although we dont know crane out dates, so I should imagine they'll stay up to assist in the roof install.

From the OS:

New stadium update: Commencement of roof lift
Posted on 8 February 2018 - 11:45

A key milestone on the site of our new stadium has been achieved following the completion of the compression ring, the final step before the stadium's roof structure is raised into place.

The compression ring sits at the back of the four stands and creates an elliptically-shaped ring, which will hold the cable net roof structure. After the cables have been lifted into position the roof will be covered with 287 glass roof sections and 810 cassettes.

THE ROOF LIFT EXPLAINED

Supporters who regularly watch our live stadium webcams will be aware of the flying columns that are currently positioned in the stands across the stadium site.

These columns will form the inner part of the roof and are connected to an upper and a lower tension ring in the centre of the roof. You can see the lower tension ring on the ground inside the stadium bowl, and the upper tension ring connected to the top of the flying columns. The tension rings are connected back to the compression ring by 45 radial cables, which are laid out on the tiers in the bowl. It will take a number of days to connect all the cables before the roof lift commences.

These cables will all be tightened at the same time by strand jacks (lifting jacks attached to the cables) until the roof is sufficiently tensioned to structurally support itself.

The whole process takes a number of weeks and is dependent on weather conditions. Once in place, the roof will form the highest point of our new home.

810 casettes? First the micro brewery and now this.
The stadium becomes more hipster every day.

They also put more of the curved pieces around the north stand and this photo show the whole of the ring in situ. Crane is detached so it is completed.(y)

This roof lift announcement is big. Daniel Levy stated last May in a meeting with the Supporter’s Trust that a big indication as to whether the stadium project is on schedule is whether the roof is going on at the end of January or beginning a February. From the minutes of the Supporter’s Trust meeting, "KL asked for an outline of the build schedule for the stadium from here on in. It was obviously on time right now, considering the Wembley deal had been signed, but what should fans look out for over the coming months as signals it’s still on course? DL said that the roof going on at the end of January/ early February 2018 would be a big indicator."

Acknowledging that we have incomplete information, it appears that, at best, construction is right on schedule, or, at worst, we are a "number of weeks behind," depending on what Levy meant by "the roof going on at the end of January.early February." If he literally meant the roof being lifted into place, then we are likely behind some weeks. If he meant the lifting process starting late January/early February, then we may still be in that window. Regardless, it looks like we should be able to move into the new stadium next season, even if it requires us to play our first few matches on the road.
