A lot of people are being misled at the moment by a corruption of the saying that "size matters" !
well obviously a lot areas it does;)
However a lot of bollocks is being discussed about Wembley pitch size and us.
Our result today should go along way to proving it does not
we just hit 7 away goals on the Biggest pitch in the EPL!
so to put it in context the pitches measure up like this:- (source Wikipedia)
Wembley measures 105 by 69 metres or 7245 sq meters
The KC stadium measures 114 x 74 meters or 8436 sq meters
Now I know Hull were crappy but look at the link below to all the pitches in the EPL and tell me that size was in any way really relevant to any of our bad results
There is a link below to all the pitch sizes from the EPL this season just gone
Yeah the one we ended up coming 2nd..
We may have a problem adjusting to playing at Wembley, I honestly do not think we will
The size of the pitch is IMHO totally irrelevant to the way we play
I think we will adjust very quickly, make Wembley our fortress and challenge again.
I am sure Poch and the team know this stuff already.....
But pundits are thick and looking for reasons to dis us so they come up with crap each season as to why we wont challenge next season!
Let em they are in for a huge surprise. If we can maintain our form next season.
Relax and enjoy the ride of the best Spurs team I have seen in over 50 years!

I for one always think bigger size suits us better, as there are more spaces for us to ping the balls and move around the pockets.. Covering them will not be a problem too with our superior fitness..

It is more of a psychological thing that teams performed better or worse in home/away grounds.. WHL crowd was like a 12th man, while Wembley had been a mental barrier for us to overcome.. Poch will sort it up..

Our new stadium will also have a pitch the same size as Wembley. So irrelevant really. The only difference will be recreating a 'home atmosphere' in the single season at Wembley and again the first season in NWHL. I think it will be 3 years until we're a fortress at home again.

It's not the pitch size that is the problem, it's the changed atmosphere - it's just not the same as WHL and it will affect the players.

To the person who disagreed, take a look at our CL campaign this year for proof. I don't think it will take a whole season like the other poster but it would not surprise me if we struggle for a while next season.

I think it would've been far better for our team if the club had scheduled pre-season with most of the games at Wembley instead of flying out to the US.

It's not the pitch size that worries me. It's the 'occasion' offered visitors, many of whom may never get to play there. Witness Ghent

I honestly disagree with you about the 3 years...I hope I am right and you are wrong. I think with Poch we are going to settle in a lot quicker when we turn it in to our home! like the first couple of matches ...Starting with the Charity Shield assuming Arse lose.

It's not the size of the pitch, it's the fact it's not home and is so soulless

I think the players are young and will adjust quickly, we do have some of the best fans in the Uk and they will raise the roof, in fact it could be very intimidating when you have 70-80k home fans! If we settle in quickly, get a couple of wins under our belt, and confidence starts to flow, then it will be fine. It would be nice to start with a couple of easier games to settle in!
Almost all our players have played there before in internationals or our CL campaign. IMHO we lost our home games there because We had not yet hit our stride, form wise, euro hangover, had injury problems, and Monaco were a lot better than anyone realised, plus Wembley was unfamiliar.
The fact that we struggled does not mean that visiting teams wont!
I am by no means saying it is a dead cert, that everything will be ok, but if we can go on a good early run of the first 6 or so games,
then I think we will be fine.

Personally I think that the issue is more we treat it as normal and our opponents think it's like a cup final because they get to play at Wembley
Doubt pitch size means anything really.

For me...that's it in a nutshell. The first four home games could define our season. I hope opposition start thinking "Oh no, we could get smashed at Wembley"

For me its a bit that the opposition raise their game, partly the poor atmosphere (some of that due to the stadium, some to the, lets be honest, often atrocious efforts of us fans), but mainly the pitch. Not talking about the size of it, but although it is better than it was when the stadium first opened it always seems slower and the ball doesn't zip about - as it does at WHL or most other PL grounds. The amount of passes that are under-hit or the receiver has to wait an age for it to arrive and just saps that little bit of momentum out of the play is so frequent. You need to rip up the turf, rip up the foundations, and start again.

Its a slow pitch, the ball doesnt move quickly enough. It also takes a lot out of the players stamina as its too soft.

I expect a lot of injuries next season

Wembley was built on an Indian burial ground and the pitch is made from the bones they dug up.

They are sitting season ticket holders with the other season ticket holders that were around them at WHL, and in a similar position at Wembley, so hopefully that will help recreate the atmosphere we've had this season, as opposed to people buying random seats for the European games.
