Huge double standard but Boro and Sunderland are also in a relegation battle. PL might not want to ban their players for an extended period of time so they are being a bit lenient so as to not be seen as being too hard on clubs that are already in a bit of a pickle.

I dont agree with it but I understand it, if in fact that is the reason.

That first picture is brilliant. If that was a Spurs corner/free kick I can see 2 penalties there...

Kyle Walker didn't get a ban for the push on Sterling in the Man City game: I'm prepared to let the lack of retrospective ban for Valdes lie.

tbf it was him trying to wind Dele up, I'm proud how he firstly didn't retaliate & secondly didn't throw himself to the ground clutching his face like he'd been chinned

It doesn't bother me at all

We won the game so it had no impact on us and we don't have to play them again this season anyway

Perhaps his ban would have made it easier for one of our rivals to take points of them (I can't be bothered to check their fixture list)

They didn't have any problem banning Dembele for 6 games for a very similar incident. They may be in a relegation scrap just as we were going for the title. The incident itself doesn't bother me because, as with Costa, there was no injury. However, the double standards and total lack of consistency does bother me. Howard Webb called it as a straight red card and he should know.

eh, don't care, him being banned wouldn't help us in any way, the fa can do what they want.

Hardly fair on their relegation rivals. They're also in a bit of a pickle.

Sends a nice, positive message that it's ok to shove your hands in the face of an opponent.

He was slapping his teammates' faces, too.

At least Dele didn't react. He has really pulled his socks up since that Yacob incident last season.

Walker did nothing wrong, there was no grounds for a retrospective ban.

Don't give a shit. It was a nothing incident that the commentators were making into a fucking melodrama. Valdes barely touched Dele, and clearly Dele felt the same way or he would have gone down.

Ian Darke couldn't stop wanging on about it at the time, nothing incident for me.

Based on the laws of the game, it should have been a red card for violent conduct if the referee had seen it, so a second look at it should have resulted in a ban. It really doesn't matter whether we got the three points or not..
