This game is a prime example of why a match lasts 90 minutes and is not over until it is over; of why fans should never make knee jerk comments; of why fans should not leave a game early; of the romance of the cup; of the difference in quality and fitness between premier league level players and lower league pros.

I have seen us lose to many games like this down the years, so will accept a lucky escape, a win and a place in the next round. Survive and advance. If get a similar draw at home in the next round then the same group of players get a chance to learn from today.

Just home from the match and wow, what a game!
There was some terrible performances today - Dier, CCV, Wimmer, Onomah but the worst has got to be Sissoko - he was just awful.... we got away with it today but if we go into a PL game needing CCV and Wimmer as our CBs we wont get top 4.

I hope our name is on the cup with the luck we got today - who knows but I left the ground feeling gutted for Wycombe as they deserved a replay but so relieved we got that winner.

The place erupted when Son scored that which was amazing but some of them players should feel embarrassed today.

There were more than a few comments like this on the terraces when Ledders first started with us...
Saw King from day dot and he was mustard, and anyone who says otherwise is a liar (or at best a very poor judge of a player)
Ledley's technique always stood out from the start in whatever position.
His reading of the game improved after his spell in CM but the ability (and pace) was never in question.

I was about to write the obituary for the "Glory" quote that is all around the Lane and used when the mood suits the club. Luckily we won and avoided an embarrassing exit, but there are still fans saying it would have been best to have been knocked out. That attitude is what is wrong with the modern fan of this club.

If we do not attempt to win a trophy this year and focus only on the top four then I do not want to see the quote about "glory" anywhere in the new stadium. I would prefer our marketing department comes up with a catchy phrase about finishing in the top four being the same as winning a trophy.

Was too young when King made his Debut to remember but that is positive. Trust me, I want him to turn into a class player, like I do all Spurs players, but at the moment, he looks very shaky. Lets see, I'm not saying he wont make it!

That's fair lmd, I wasn't calling you out or anything, just making the observation.

King himself stated that playing alongside Naybet was what made him the player he became. The class was always there, he just needed a mentor alongside him to bring it out.
Alderweireld would be good for CCV, only he plays in the same position. Maybe Vertonghen could bring out the best in him?

Proper cup game today, which showed that not all of the magic of the F.A cup has gone.

To say we stole the game would be an understatement. Thought Wycombe deserved a replay at the very least and thought it was a nice touch from so many of the Spurs supporters who stayed behind after the final whistle to applaud the Wycombe team.

Never said it was, I just said the comments were made.
King had his blunders in his early games but, as you say, it was apparent that we had a quality player on our hands.

I'm not suggesting that CCV is of the same ilk either, just that judgements can be made too early even on one of the best to ever grace the shirt.

Not fair to judge a player when you replace the whole back four. Defences need time to gel and get to know each others game. CCV looked very good every other time he played.

Agreed.

It's kinda funny seeing some of the bunched panties here, like I was bagging out a player that sits in the top 2 of my all time favourite Spurs players alongside Hoddle. I've gone on record here many times stating that I rate him as the best of his generation.

The point I was making was that even the best get judged too early. CCV has a lot of promise that will hopefully be realised, but he'll make mistakes along the way, just as the best did.

And for every Ledders their is a slow burner like Kane wouldn't you agree. I don't think many people would say they saw much in Kanes game to suggest he would become one of the top strikers in Europe. Winks on the other hand is another one that you can just see straight away will be a top player.

Personally I thought Sissoko had a good game.

Couple of "fans" in front of me booed at half time. They had their kids with them too. Such bad form.

From Dan Kilpatrick on twitter(i guess hes a journo)

"#thfc Pochettino to his fringe players post-match: "If you cannot play in this type of game, we will have a problem."

Ouch."

Brutal remarks by Poch. But probably well deserved and I think i know who this was aimed at. Sissoko was absolutely dreadful but had to stay on the full 90 due to an apparent injury to GKN. Wimmer, for the 2nd time in 2 straight games, was hauled off before the 70' minute. At least he even made the 2nd half this time, i suppose. Think they'll both be off in the summer.

It's clear Poch rates Onomah but he badly needs games. I'd loan him out to a prem team. Hull and Burnley are probably looking for CM's.

I'd loan CCV out since he needs games also but i dont think Poch will allow it. He was good in his appearances before today so Poch does trust him to an extent and I'm starting to believe Poch's trust in Wimmer is running out quickly.

One thing is clear after today. Poch has a selection headache ahead of him for a bit until Jan gets back. He'll probably go back to 4231 and use Dier and Toby as the partnership with Son in the AM.

Glory is a 5-0 win with 90% posession and 100 shots on target; didn't you get the memo?
