Best cup tie I've ever seen.

What a game.

Feel for Wycombe but how many times have we seen Arsenal/Liverpool/United escape ties like this - relieved to see us doing it at last.

Next time I hope Poch learns his lesson and starts with a stronger team with maybe just a couple of changes, then once we're a couple of goals up then take the likes of Alli and Eriksen off - once the tie is secured.

But then you run the risk of missing one of the best cup ties you've ever seen! ;)

Back in the 60's we were labelled "The entertainers."

Seems we're getting that way again.

Easy, easy, easy! So much respect to Wycombe. Hope we throw them some 'replay' cash or something. They deserved it.

Poch did not "disrespect" the Cup - he played a side he expected to win - we all expected to win comfortably. Some players hurt themselves with their performance today, but thats not on the manager, imo.
I get where you are coming from - but respectfully disagree. He made 9 changes, he fielded and inexperienced team who never play with one another - he took an unnecessary risk and he almost shot himself in the foot. It's not the first time he has done this and it has NEVER worked. EVER, NEVER EVER - and that is what is so frustrating.
Fine - you want to rest some players - The Full Backs are interchangeable. Bar that change one or two, like for like - but CV and Wimmer as your newbie CB pairing with Vorm behind them. Onomah (Bambi on ice) out of position etc etc - he took the gamble and disrespected Wycombe - believing that our second string, who never play together, would simply win the game. It was awful and a mistake that has been repeated 3 seasons on the trot - all for that coveted CLge spot that we screwed up this season.
Change 4 players - fine. But to risk it all to protect the first team in its entirety and almost get knocked out by a 4th tier team at HOME - was unbearable to watch and is still unbearable to swallow.
We win 4 more games we win the cup - surely that's worth going for?!?! A TROPHY M'Lord please - our current staring X1 should be biting at the bit to want to win a trophy, they've just had a week off in Spain!
Make trophy winning a habit and a desire for the starting X1.
Oh and play the entire second string forever in the Europa League. (worst trophy ever invented).
We win the FA cup this season and a top 4 finish - would be a brilliant result.

Fuck me dad will probably be watching this on delayed later, I can hear the swearing now...

Fortunately he knows the score but that will probably still have minimal impact on his swearing and the general abuse he aims at the TV.

Thank fuck neighbours connected are elderly and a little mutton.

For those of you calling it a disgrace, it's the FA Cup guys. That's what makes it special. Lower league teams see a chance to course an upset and play like men possessed. No shame in being pushed to the limit. If Prem teams breezed though every time it wouldn't be the competition it is. Fantastic cup tie.
Spot on, also if you make that a league 2 side on a 16 game unbeaten run, against a premier league reserve team...it suddenly becomes much closer match, which is exactly what we saw today.

We would never had won a replay in there place...

LOL.

My old man rang me after the game, both of us were as happy with that win as we would be with a Prem win. He also told me a story about the great Bill Nic team in the FA Cup.
We played Crewe Alexander and stole a 2-2 draw, they hit the post in the dying seconds but won a replay at WHL...

We proceeded to beat then 13-2!

The funny part of the story is that they took the train down, arriving at platform 13. They went back up North leaving from platform 2!

The FA Cup is still a wonderful competition that throws up major drama's regularly.

Fuck the analysis and the whingeing about our performance against a league 2 team. We won in an exciting game that highlighted everything good about the competition, I love that I can feel euphoria at the end of this game, rather than the jaded expectation that comes from walking it.

We used to say in the 1970's that when Spurs played away in the cups they always seemed to aim for the draw
so the replay would bring in a nice few quid and make old Sidney Wale and the rest of the directors happy.

No mention on the BBC report of us having to play the last 20 with 10 men.

Frankly we overcame the odds.

True underdog performance.
Why let facts get in the way of a (almost) fairy tale?

We all know too well the paps can gloss over anything for one of those...

Worked pretty well against Gillingham...
