I'm still intrigued at the high fee (as reported /rumoured) that we paid for Sissoko. He doesn't look like he'd score more goals than Son, Alli, Lamela or even Chadli (if he had stayed).
He plays so well for France

But higher up the pitch

What a depressingly predictable result. Every time we've had the chance to go top in the last 2 years (however briefly) we have blown it. Our lack of goals is starting to become a real problem.

Well they weren't today.

Sanchez missed 2 sitters and Ozil was invisible.

What and you think Lamela Eriksen And Alli were better?

Really?

I'll stick up a bit for Dele as at least he tries and always does.. But Eriksen and Lamela really weren't at it today.

I say that without haven't watched the Arsenal game..

Let's leave it there though don't want to clog the thread with a panto style he is he isn't.. Do rate your posts Mustard but not this subject. :)

Nkoudou was the man I think we all wanted on the pitch for the last 25-30 mins... Wasn't even on the bench was he?
Yes. definitely. the bench didn't contain a likely match changer( apart from Sissoko, if he had got the red card). Needed someone with a bit of pace, a trick, or something unexpected. GKN looks like he may have that but isn't really being given the chance and Edwards is still considered a League cup only player. I think Mane will prove to be the one that got away this season .

It really makes me feel dirty saying Arsenal players are better but I have to tell the truth.

Ozil and Sanchez really are levels above Eriksen All and Lamela. Not just a level... Plural...Levels above. They would both walk into our team instantly. On their day? Basically you mean when Alli and Eriksen play out of their skin when Ozil and Sanchez have a bad game, yeh maybe but that is once in a blue moon. Those 2 are genuine world class talent, sadly they play for Arsenal.

Ozil and sanchez are better than anything we have but look how much they spent to get that quality we dont do that.
Although we spent 30m on sissoko which looks a strange signing considering he adds zero value from a penertration level, which is what we are struggling with.

Just watching L/pool v WBA. Pool on another level to us. They look they will score with every attack, unlike us.

I actually think Kev G Nkoudou will be the envy of all Prem teams come the end of the season.

Agreed we could of done with a bit of Mane today though.

And GKN, we could've used speed against them. Especially that chance lamela had where eriksen played him through and he ran as hard as he could to goal but ended up losing the ball.
That looked like he was trying to open up an angle, but he should have shot earlier. It was a good chance, but he still lacks a bit of confidence.

Think he is playing with the weight of expectation from some of the fans who demand instant vindication of his transfer value.. Similarly to Janssen, but he is more on the weight of Eridivisie top scorer..

Are we really having this debate, Sanchez is top class, yes he couldn't always make the first 11 with Messi, Saurez and Neymar at Barca but who would. Ok today for the first time in a good number of games for them he didn't do it but normally he is the difference for them.

He is far better than Eriksen or Lamela, I rather that not be the case but why lie about it. It's pretty obvious why Poch went mental for Isco in the summer, we need a top draw AM.

I think it is a genuine concearn that we are not putting our opportunities away.

In general we are actually playing well without looking really potent.

And you think Lamela doesn't put in a shift, because you need to go to Specsavers if you don't think he does?

Movement, invention and pace. 3 things we lack in attack.
Literally one player would make a massive difference for us.

We are better than Liverpool in 7/8 positions though. Lloris, the defence, Wanyama, Dembele and Kane would all start in a combined XI

Lallana, Mane, Coutinho/Firmino make a real difference though

I don't know... maybe taking your chances and seeing the rewards of your hard work gives your more confidence and puts you psychologically in a better place...

Look, TBH, you are creating what is known as a straw man to argue against, because no-one, absolutely zero, person, has actually said they wouldn't have preferred to have won. I would have preferred it that we had smashed the Baggies and Bournemouth 27 - nil each.

The point people are making is that it isn't worthy of such a hyperbolic reaction. We were away. We played in the CL away during the week. Bournemouth are a decent, and, perhaps more importantly, a very hard working team. We have some key members missing. And, at the end of the day, every club, every single club, ends the season with an accumulation of points based on a combination of wins, draws and losses (except the Goons, once...spits). You don't know, yet, where this point today will stand in the grand scheme of things, neither do I and neither does anyone else.

But I do know that Liverpool and United won a string of titles each despite losing a game, sometimes two or three together, that it would have been expected that they would win. And I do know that out rivals this season will drop points - maybe away to Bournemouth (who are, after all, a decent side with a good manager).

At the end of the day, we drew away to a good side who worked hard, after playing away in Europe in mid-week against a hard-working side, while missing some key players. I'm disappointed that we didn't win - I always am when we don't. But that might just turn out to be a point gained at the end of the season, and not two dropped. Maybe you could give Bournemouth some more credit and be a little less dismissive.

I also think you are too quick to dismiss the ArseAnal result. Our rivals drew at home, after playing at home against a poor side in the CL, against against Middlesborough, and haven't suffered the injuries we have. I think it is more like they have dropped two points, whereas we may have gained one, than the other way around.

Just a different perspective.

Maybe it because we would be 6 bloody points better off than where we are now......

We would be four points better off, not six...and no-one is saying that wouldn't have been nice.

9 games in, 1 point off top and undefeated, and people are bitching.............you couldn't make it up o_O:banghead:

Are you serious we have dropped 4 points against sides we should really be putting away see liverpool tonight for evidence of that.
We have much to be proud of with our good young team but we should not overlook that we are impotent up top which other teams also know.

Think it's just the wages issue having come from Batca and Real, but we have spent those sort of fees; Sissoko, Lamela too. Probably wasn't much between the Sanchez and Soldado fees either.

We will have to go there at some point or go big on a young version.. We need that top quality from somewhere.

Hopefully Kev G Nkoudo really takes off and Edwards hits the ground running when he's ready.
