I know its ewrly and this coming from someone who actually thinks he is s decent player but for some reason to me anyways he just doesnt fit in the team and squad. Im not talking about his integration in the team but moreso he seems out of kilter with the profile of our type of player.

He doesnt have the creativity or the trickiness and even perhwps intelligence of our attacking players

Not sure he just doesnt seem to fit.

If we've bought him to use as a winger, I'm genuinely perplexed... One goal and seven assists playing there for Newcastle last year. Surely for £30 million we could've done much, much better.

I'm not really convinced by him and was very surprised we went in for him as I think there were far better ways to spend £30m BUT we need to acknowledge it takes time for players to fit into our system, Lamela and Son being great examples, so let's hope he gets better with more game time. We also can't forget he had no pre-season and can't be as fit as the rest of our squad. #TryingToBePositive

I think the great majority of us were perplexed by this signing. I still am but am trying to forget the fee and just think of him as another decent addition to our impressive midfield options( and he is fairly versatile as to where he can play) , The emergence of Son and prospect of N'koudou makes it seem less of an issue at the moment.

His height and strength should be an asset defensively but he went down quicker than a Geordie slapper for the goal. Very poor. I think he's a player that will have great moments for us but not so many great games.

We can put this down to a panic buy. If he is going to be used AMR better off spending 20m on Zaha

Thought he was terrible today, didn't set a foot right the whole game imo.

Think he is completely wasted on that AMR position. He's not a 30m player in that position - never will be, saw that at Newcastle for a few seasons.

No play him like France vs. Portugal where he was the best player on the pitch, then he could be worth 30m.

He lacks technique and the application and effort to make up for it. Tired of these big fish in small pond signings like him, Bentley, Bent and Dempsey. They will never work out for us as we're built to be a team and our system is set,it's not reliant on any one player nor built to accommodate these types of players.

Based on a couple of games.

Written off already. Wow.

Apart from few actually doing that, what most are doing is commenting on his performances so far and his role within the side. To me It's was a bizarre and unnecessary transfer at the time and there has been nothing shown so far to suggest that wasn't the case. That's not to say it will always be that way but so far it is still very much the Sissoko of Newcastle last year.

Most of last season with Newcastle, he'll turn up once every 10 games, but the issue is he doesn't have the all round game necessary to compensate when he's not able to bulldoze his way through a defence.

That summarises him pretty well... he is a bulldozer and on his day is exciting but he just has no intelligence. He isnt intricate etc. Now he can offer something different but not sure what that is yet.

And the very guy who introduced our 'system' clearly wanted to sign him.

He's also improved other players in this squad, so why not show some patience and wait and see what happens before sounding so sure.

I agree with backing Poch, I do trust him, but I do have to admit that unless he was brought in as a Dembele backup it's a mystifying transfer. However with regards to Transfer budgets, nowadays you're better off spending it. Because of ever increasing TV money, footballers values rise quite drastically. Sometime spending £10m on a player may allow you to sell him for a lot more money in the future despite his value and contribution to your squad not really being significant. Whereas obviously cash in the bank can only gain interest.

Written off already. Wow.

People are over-reacting after he had a poor game, don't read too much into it. Although he might not ever be a £30m player in the opinions of most here, myself included, I'm sure most of us think he'll be a useful player once he settles in.

To be fair I expected him.to rotate with Dembele in the CM2, and wasn't expecting to see him in the three on the right, certainly not to start with.

I think he'll do well, particularly away from home, in the CM2 in the future though.

He put in the exact same performance he has been doing for the majority of 2 years today

These kinds of performances are why the
Majority of Newcastle fans have no time for him what so ever...

You would think coming to a better club with a lot more competition he would step it up but based on today he clearly didn't/can't.

Time will tell if he can actually step it up, personally I'm not sure if he ever will to the standards we require (from a starter)
