Well, I was the other side of my house to my mum when all this **** went down, I should've predicted or at least prepared for all this and therefore placed myself into a closer proximity to my mother so I could reach her quicker and then she could've reacted quicker and got me some ice cream. I suggested to her we should work on this in training over next week in preparation for the new season when emotions are running higher.

Wow. One of the most interesting, and strangely moving things I have ever read ( on a sports forum, of course - I'm not including things like Gaza, Ukraine, etc., etc.).
That guy appears to be really, really ITK for Soton.

@Larryjanta. What's to dislike about this? Spiteful little fucker, aren't you? Why can't you just hold your own opinions, without trying to neg rep other people, just because they happen to disagree with you on certain occasions?

I would imagine that almost every SC member has disagreed with the posts of others. This is part and parcel of a forum. But to hunt down an individual poster, and neg rep them is just vindictive, and takes the "Community" out of Spurs Community.

Is it possible that Krueger said what he did to 1) force MS to ask for a transfer so saving them any pay off. Plus it makes MS look bad 2) it actually speeds things up if DL or others were taking their time and is maybe suits Southampton to get money in ASAP

Agree..and the making him look bad is already in full swing. Some of their fans very hateful towards him and this will only speed up his exit IMO.

I just hope the following is not what's happening:

-Arsenal willing to match Southampton's evaluation of MS
-MS does not want to go to Arsenal but link up with old manager at Spurs
-Spurs not meeting Southampton evaluation, they want to sell to Arsenal for more money
-SH blocking move of MS to Spurs, MS desperate to get out so agrees the move to Arsenal

That would be a nightmare but you can't rule it out unfortunately.

Got to hope we were close to offering something they would accept or Schneiderlin could get frustrated.

Typical Levy transfer - played out in the press and probably made a low ball offer which resulted in the Southampton responding in the way he did
I don't know what their asking price is, but I would imagine it's far more than he's actually worth. In negotiations, you don't agree to their asking price straight away, unless you're City or Chel$ki (even then, they would still negotiate some).
I'm pretty sure Levy doesn't want any of our dealings in the press. He can't control what they write about. I imagine it happens to all teams. We only notice it more with Spurs because we support them.

I've spoke to a saints mate in their youth setup, the kids are loving this as they think their getting first team call ups, far as they are concerned this can all carry on

We probably did put in a low offer.....but Soton getting crucified by supporters, media and the general public following the sale of yet another young talent and then news of another 2 sales being discussed may have caught their attention their Manager making cheeky tweets that read as being unhappy with the situation probably had an impact as well....

While we probably made a low offer the club's public decent into dumpster fire probably had just as much, if not more of an impact on the deal(s) going on with Spurs than an initial low opening offer...

This is likely scenario in my view.......

Spurs have verbally agreed terms with MS and he wants to join.
Levy has approached Soton to discuss transfer.
Soton have met us to discuss and presumably said his valuation is £27m.
Levy has offered something like £15m or £8m + Dawson/Rose/Townsend/Chadli.
Soton have gone mental, publicised everything and we are now here.

Plenty of posturing to come before he signs for circa £18-20m.

Ice cream? A large Scotch is likely to be more useful.

And it wouldn't surprise me if they have got some top draw talent in the youth setup, would be interesting to see a few of them to be honest in the Prem.

We had a partial list from Jason Burt in the Telegraph; Villas-Boas definitely wanted Soldado and Lamela as well as Paulinho and Capoue. Also in the list were Villa (one assumes Soldado was Plan B), Mkhiktaryan, Oscar, Fernandinho, Willian, Damiao, Hulk and Coentrao—and there were other names that Burt didn't mention. As we came very close to getting Willian, whatever we offered can't have been much short of the £32m Chelsea gazumped us with. Even assuming that we really did pay just £13m up front for Soldado, that wouldn't have left us with much change out of £100m for the five—and remember we were very strongly linked with Coentrao last summer, too. Another £25m?

I know we must have had a fair bit left in the bank from selling Modric, but I honestly don't see how we could have afforded that without selling Bale. Any ideas? I'm not suggesting that we sold Bale at AVB's behest, more that he may have been—how shall I put it?—somewhat detached from economic reality.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...ger-Andre-Villas-Boas-had-become-distant.html

"Top of the agenda was Bale’s future, with Villas-Boas urging the club to keep him for one more year"

"Villas-Boas happy with the pursuit of Paulinho, Roberto Soldado and Etienne Capoue but unsure that he wanted a radical overhaul."
