You're going to be here a long time if you expect explanations for every piece of ITK that doesn't transpire. It isn't something that every ITK does and it isn't something they have to do either.

This is the end of an exciting window. Perhaps the best ever. In the last few days I believe that the ITKs talked much about further incomings that didn't happen. Of course they only post when they want to - and they don't have to provide any news at all - but why the silence now? They were wrong. So admit it. We can all be wrong at times. But many people read (and believed) their words. And now it seems they have flown the coup. Well I believe that it is only appropriate that they come to the party once more (although the room seems to be pretty empty) and do one more dance about what went wrong.

They pass on what they hear, and we say to take things with a pinch of salt and things can change.

We are hearing that we had mad a few bids on the last few days of the window that didnt come off. If you want to believe everything they say then that's your choice, but stop calling them out to explain.

If and when they do it will be when they are ready, not because people are demanding it.

Quick question:

Is this thread about ITK post mortem? or the transfer window post mortem? Can't remember......:(

Don't you want to hear who that 'jaw-dropping' player was? I do. Don't you want to know which bids failed and why? I do.

I hear that A&C is thinking of closing this thread. If he does so then where will we discuss the post window ITK news if and when any of the ITKs decide to enlighten us poor creatures in the shadows?

No and...no. It's irrelevant now - what difference does it make? All it will do is cause moaning and sighing.

Christ.

Sure we all want to know, but we might not. There are obviously much much more going on than we ever get a sniff of and rightly so since these things are sensitive.

We might have had a bid in on several jaw dropping players, even Özil that went for around that amount that was bandied around, bids didn't come off, no time, players demands unfeasable, might happen in January, who knows?

If I get told by a friend that he is buying a new car and I tell you that, am I then wrong if he doesn't buy the car and need to explain myself and crawl in the dust, hitting myself with a stick while I am kissing your feet begging for forgivness for 'being wrong'?

How about with your mates in the pub? Get out of the house for a while.

I keep on about this because the ITKs said that we could expect certain things to happen. They didn't. I think it only right, and appropriate, that they let those that follow their pronouncements know what transpired. This is only fair in my opinion.

Now who do you think Spurs would have brought in with the 'net spend zero' scenario if Bale had remained a Spurs player? You've got about £22m to do it from outgoing sales...

Your question assumes that the purchases made and the sale of GB were not mutually exclusive while ignoring the fact that all of the purchases were completed before GB was actually sold. So you either think the deal was finalized - not simply agreed in principle - early on and the club has been hiding that fact, or you think the club is incompetent and would have been screwed if the sale hasn't gone through.

I'm quite curious. Won't change anything and won't send me into a spiral of depression, it would simply be interesting.

Imagine if Levy has genuinely had him murdered. £30m that deal would have been worth, you can have someone killed for a couple of grand (Hackney prices). Stands to reason.

no wonder JJetset is so eager to retire from ITK!

in all fairness it was Kia (#bestagentsintheworld) and Abramovich's secret plans that blew that deal, not the publicity of it happening (and POTL's post was before the news of Chelsea's bid broke)

Mumblings but I'm unaware of any definite offer, but you would imagine we have looked at him a number of times. His buy out is 37.5 mill though I believe and they are one of those clubs you feel would want that in full, although losing out on millions for Llorente might just have changed their view
I love both of them so choosing would be a dilemma, but Griezmann's buy out is 30 mill euros and last year he showed a continuation of his development whereas Iker had a poor year. I think there are lots of reasonable reasons why Iker struggled but one of the biggest is that he wants to do everything which in one way is great but at the top you have to focus on doing your own job as a priority and trust your team mates to do theirs and only cover or help when you can without impacting your own role
For me apart from the cost difference I would say Griezmann is the better offensive player, far better in a pure wing role but still a very good orchestrator and second striker. I think Muniain is a great mix of skill and work rate and never say die attitude but he doesn't score many goals, his best in La Liga in one season was 5, laast season Griezmann hit 10
On the other hand Muniain has it in him to play cm and is a tough and fearless little sod even if he isn't very big and if we find that we are lacking character, desire and win mentality more than goals then I think Iker is your man
Lets be honest I think we'd be over the moon with either:D

Good take Barry (y) , but let's not forget that Muniain is almost 2 years younger than Griezmann, not to mention he is predominantly a right-footer, while Griezmann is left (although he is normally employed at Bilbao along the same flank as Griezmann for Sociedad --> as an inverted LWF vs Griezmann, who's LW in 4-2-3-1 or LWF in 4-3-3, respectively).

So it's early days to compare the two kids, but for a 20 yr old, Muniain is pretty fucking impressive.
Griezmann is already a star in the making, imho (well, they both are, if developed properly).

Regardless of the differences though, I'd be over not only the moon, but the stars as well, if we could sign either of them.

Hopefully Grey Fox gives us his round up soon and we can then get on with throwing JJ a retirement party. You know, so we can get him drunk...:ninja:

As this ITK forum is about to be closed - where is the best place to go on this site for general Spurs chat?
