Could this window get any weirder ?
Don't ask that in here, somebody will take it as a challenge and turn up at your door shortly preparing for all manner of activities...
Could this window get any weirder ?
This. Is. Insane.
Only a few weeks ago we were worried whether Paulinho would choose us when the Confederations Cup was over. Then we had the usual transfer window angst about never buying a top striker.
Now here we are, with still time left in the window and an apparent intention to keep spending, with seven - that's SEVEN - top-quality new signings. Unless I have forgotten any - or we've signed somebody else in the time that it's taken me to write this.
There has never been, and will never again be, a transfer window like this one.
marcspurs on SO
Keeerist!
I'm just finished putting the final touches to the last "give Rob your cash" post and thinking two signings is a pretty good day and then a blimmin' Scandiwegian arrives in the last post!
So, back to it to trawl the pledge thread and see who mentioned Christian "Villa" Eriksen in their pledges.
Oh, and, please remember that there is still time left in the crazy window where Levy found the wheelbarrow (it was behind the war-chest after all) and gave it to Kevin Keegan's illegitimate brother and sent him off round Europe with a wish list made up of Liverpool's targets ( ) and pure fantasy...
You too could end up listed below in the glorious roll of honour if your picks come in (let's face it - name a player you want in a Spurs shirt - the odds are we will sign them!).
So, tonight's rollover winners are:
Parkie - Any other "big name" (that I like): £10 - I like Eriksen
Mr Pink - Erikson £20.00
Revo - Other first team players £5 each
Whitechina - Erikson £5
Lillywhites61 - Any attacking midfielder £10
Syn_13 - Creative attacking mid/wide forward/winger - £5
Indacupfortottenham - Erikson £5
MonkeyBastardHands - Each other "household name" signing - £10
(This even comes up on Autocorrect now!)
GBSpurs - £10m -£15m = £10 (£11.5m apparently)
Joshua shepherd - Eriksen - £10
Davids_5 - £10 for a creative midfield player
Ian Kane - Sign anyone - £5 (per signing)
StupidLikeAFox - And £1 for every million spent (another £11.50!)
Bus-Conductor - Eriksen 50
Bruts - Every signing over £10 million - £5
N17Jack - Erickson, sorry about the spelling, £20
Reece - please let me know if this joke is getting old!
I'll give a tenner for each player we sign who has Villa somewhere in their name in addition to a tenner per player who is signed from a club that has likewise - until Feb 1st.
See second sentence of this post!
MilkyBarYid - we've finally signed someone who hasn't cost you money!
Guilty party - £10m -£15m = £10
(did I miss you off the previous roundup? If so, sorry!)
Sweech - Eriksen - $20 (Canadian)
Garymcl - Erickson - £50 (it's not your night is it?! - or is it the night of your life?!)
PhezTHFC - £10 Another full international
Thanks!
Think about it - this list alone is £261.50 (plus whatever $20 works out at) - the servers cost £390 per month so we are almost there without random generosity that just comes out of the blue as well...
That is a hint.
In fact, Garymcl has bought two weeks of access for you lot in one day today! That's about 600 people who can spaff themselves blind (mass)debating the merits of AVB's beard dye for a fortnight due to one simple pledge.
In the words of Bob Geldof: "Give us yer feckin money!"
I really doubt that we'll pay what Everton would want for Baines and that they would sell him on deadline day. Would be horrific business on their behalf.
Did the Goat's religion cryptic ever get solved?
I hope this is true, not just because the loan would be a fantastic move for Carroll but also because I;d like to think the very encouraging comments "from the club" are genuine as well.
Of course, no real quotes - this is the Daily Mail... But the article is a good read if you're a fan of young TC.
I'd be surprised of we went after, or more specifically, got Baines. Everton have turned down big money from United already. And I suspect given the choice, assuming if we did get an offer accepted United would match it, the Moyes factor would leave us at a disadvantage.
I still feel its Coentrao plan A, Pereira plan B, Balzetti/Ekotto staying as fallback.
There's Baines ITK?
Soldado is 28I would be astonished if we went for Baines, he is going to turn 29 in December. Coentrao all the way in my opinion.
