Don't think the player Jasper means is Muniain, because of the part that says "depends on outgoing on striker front". Muniain (and Griezmann for that matter) is clearly a winger before he's a striker, not a player that we could reasonably replace Ade or Defoe with. Rodrigo is the only player that fits all of Jasper's categories for me, if you assume that by "under 21" he meant plays for the U21s.

"We have not finished with Spain yet. All depends on outgoing on striker front. If we do another prodigy could be on the horizon, Age under 21 and covers any of front three positions. Fee would be in region of 22m Euros.

Name withheld but not from RM. May I add only a serious possibility dependent upon both clubs but there is positive noises that we would be successful if pursued."
It's rodrigo IMO... He played for u21 so falls into the u21 category.... He was madrid's castilla's player as well ....... Lastly he has a release clause of 22m if i am not wrong...

Seems like I caused some confusion here....

Tbh, I am more than happy with the squad we would have (actually thats a understatement) . If we get Lamlea & Eriksen, dont think we need anyone else. Even for Right back spot we have strong competition with Chiriches - who apparently plays for Romania in that position.

This transfer window will be the remembered forever. Now AVB has a solid squad to choose from. He has a tough job in a way to match the expectations and show everyone that the money paid for the players is worth it.

First ofcourse is to ensure we get a result against Scum this sunday. Hopefully likes of Eriksen & Lamela are done and make at least the bench for Arsenal game.

That's because the boy only wanted Barca or Madrid and thought he was destined to be a top top player!! Too much smoke blown up his arse.
He is a bit lazy and goes missing in games too but he would do well for us if we proceed.
Great time for him to prove himself for his bigger move...

I agree, and this i why I in the Eriksen thread stated He is the only signing this far I am reluctantly excited about (though Vlad and Chadli I've hardly seen before). Eriksen can be absolutely excellent against weaker and mediocre opposition, but not so good against top opposition from what I have seen. And there is something primadonnaish about him and small elapses of Benni dozing sometimes. Hopefully he surprises me positively, I trust the club to have asessed his qualities and sees his potensial better than me. Though for now I state he's overrated. Milan and clubs in Germany have shown interest before. There have been a lot of talk about it. If he really is so good as the initial hype said he would be he would have left Ajax earlier.

I'd rule out Rodrigo - we were linked to him a couple of months back but his value then was estimated at £10m

To be honest we've huffed and puffed against these sorts of sides over the last few seasons, so having the ability to batter the teams below us isn't necessarily the end of the world

Qualify for the Champs League for the next 3 or 4 seasons, get the stadium built and sell Eriksen on if he isn't quite what we need

But imo I think he'll be quality

I wonder if Liverpool fans said this of Coutinho?

Can't remember that particular game, but seen him quite a few times in CL, National team and some dutch league over time. He has talent no doubt, but I question if he is consistent enough and ever will make his long Laudrup tagged stardom. We need this kind of creative player, but personally think he is slightly overrated and feel less confident about him improving us than what I felt when soldado, Paulinho and Capoue came out of the hat.

Who would you suggest instead?

Timing. I was talking with a Dutch friend of mine not 3 hours ago. He was over the moon that we'd picked up Erikson. Why? Because his team is the in the same league and he's happy that they don't have to go up against him any more! In his words it makes Spurs stronger and Ajax much weaker. And he watches a **lot** of Dutch football (and he's on the West coast of the US, which is a challenge as most of it is at 3am!)

Now that is a player I would have liked and who I rate a lot more! Again, Eriksen may do very well, though I am sorry to say slightly reluctant. He has had a tag for stardom for years but I don't think he has shown enough to deserve it. Just for the record. I am not part of the not premier league proven and inferior league chorus which I think is utter bullshit. He might be the deal, he might not be. IMO not sure he will be. I rest my case now and wait to see if I'm wrong (hope so) if he comes

Benfica have put a 30million euro (£25million) release clause into the contract of 20-year-old striker Rodrigo Moreno.

The Brazil-born Spain under-21 international has also signed a new deal with the club which will see his pay increase to 350,000 euro a year (around £6000 a week).
Moreno joined Benfica from Real Madrid in the summer of 2010 in a deal worth 6million euro but spent much of last season on loan at Premier League side Bolton Wanderers where he scored one goal in 21 appearances for the club, although 15 of those appearances came off the subs’ bench.

From the dutch league? Maher, more pace, good pasning and more of a goal threat, and I think we need to add a bit more goals to the team. Different from Eriksen I know but think this guy will continue to grow. Otherwise a draxler, kovacic and some others. Hamsik would have been a dream but probably not realistic.

Coutinho had a star tag for years that he failed to live up to. He did well on Loan for 1/2 a season at Espanyol and has a good 13 games for Liverpool last year but other than that and the odd game he has been poor. Eriksen has been much more consistent over both their short careers so far and he has improved year on year.

IMO the ideal player for us would be Mata but that will never happen. Eriksen is the player most like Mata that we have a chance of getting IMO.

Another thing that I think gets over looked is that he is the same age as Tom Carroll and younger than Andros Townsend.

I'd be happy with either Remy Cabella or Eriksen at this point. Eriksen strikes me as a youngster that got really comfortable with the Eredivisie and he's progressed past it now. He can absolutely dominate that league and I think sometimes when young players know that they can become a bit complacent. I'm not saying he has and he's obviously still put together fantastic statistical seasons but he does drift in and out of matches. If he came here, he'd have to work his ass off and fight off potentially 2 other players for a starting spot.
