A hero is born among a hundred, a wise man is found among a thousand, but an accomplished one might not be found even among a hundred thousand men.

Plato. Obvious cryptic: Plato > Socrates > Also the name of a former Brazilian captain and midfield maestro from the 80’s.

Assumed by many to be deceased at a young age, Socrates became part of Levy’s secret cryogenics program which will soon bear spectacular fruit. He’s slowly thawing out and should be ready just in time for the NLD on Sunday. The real answer to our attacking midfielder prayers!

Hasn't there been a jink with the players that make the banner? Perhaps it's as easy as changing the photoshopped players we'll finalize some of these deals. Simples
Could always make the banner out of players we have already bought/sold.

I like the idea of players sold. Knowing our luck we would put a player bought up there and they would get a serious injury the next time they step on to the pitch.

I think Plato wrote something called 'Prophet'.

Hernanes' nickname is 'The Prophet'.

Any chance the quote comes from that Plato text?

You could be correct with A&C cryptic
Infact Talksport transfer rumours yesterday linked him with us.

Hernanes is a really good playmaker/attacking mid. If we end up getting Hernanes & Lamela that should give good service to Soldado. But have to say we will be midfield heavy and guess Dembele will miss out in the XI. Hernanes has 2 years left in his deal - Even though he is being quoted 25m, I cannot see us going for him more than 20m.

28 is not too old - he is in his prime form atm. If we start rejecting players who are at 28, then we will get no one. Sometimes, players need to be brought in for the current team. Players like Pirlo, Raul, Klose are still playing at late 30s. If player is fit enough he is good enough. Hernanes doesnt have any record of serious injury and atm he is Brazil XI let alone in squad.
Obviously the deal has to make financial sense to Levy. If its a good deal, then I cant see any problem - because right now, we need a lock picker. Eriksen is a good option, but it looks as though AVB doesnt rate him (like all other bigger clubs). With Willian gone, there are only few internationals who can come into the role.

If we reject players who are 28 we'd better send Soldado back. He's obviously not gonna work out.

You all realise A&C is sat at home pissing himself laughing at your guesses, don't you? Sat there, laughing himself into a fit at the attempts to read between the lines of random quotes and assorted bon mots such as he spouts. He's there, can of Speckled Hen and a Bounty bar next to him on the table, chuckling like a demented hyena.

And, almost definitely, masturbating too.

Unless, maybe, this too is ITK...

I never know if we are supposed to guess at these for fun or for serious.

But here's one thing I will suggest

Plato was a student of Socrates. Socrates was a fluid Meia-Armador who could link the play with the forwards. He had great vision, was a clinical finisher and was very intelligent.

And before he died he claimed that Ganso would be the next great player. And Ganso has many of the same attributes (but not the pedigree) of Socrates.

So It's Ganso.

Hulk, Hernanes, Mata, Turan, Banega, Eriksen, Pastore, Pjanic. Those are some fantastic players we've been linked to over the last day or two. As much as I want to put a ton of work into analyzing which one would be best, any one of them would be a substantial improvement for us. I feel confident that whoever Frankie, Danny and Andre decide we should move for will be a great option.

At least it kept us from spamming the thread by spamming the thread in an organised fashion. What the fuck are we meant to talk about at 04:00 in the morning? Bale is so boring.

Just looking up Lamela online to find out more about him and found the following facts;

1. Lamela almost quit football at 15 to concentrate on being the drummer in a death metal band called La Satanista. They were signed to a far right record label 'Def Raspberry'.

2. Lamela was offered the role of Emmanuel in the upcoming Emmanuel XI but turned it down stating 'I'm a man, I can't possibly play that role'.

3. Lamela's best friend's car tax expired last month and he still hasn't renewed it.

4. Lamela's family were very poor. Instead of a ball, he used to practice keepy uppys with a small round orphan who lived nearby.

5. Lamela's nickname is Ezza Lamezza.

6. Lamela brushes his teeth thrice weekly.

7. For all his riches, he is just a mere alkali. He isn't of course, that's just an anagram. He does however like to visit Lake Malira frequently and he is a meal liker. He doesn't and he isn't, they too are anagrams.

8. Lamela is currently serving life for rape.

9. Lamela spells it 'there' instead of 'their' and that irritates his teammates despite none of them knowing English, including Lamela.

10. Lamela is good friends with Paul Weller, Ross Geller, Kasey Keller and Teller from Penn & Teller. They're all nice fellas. Apart from Teller, he suffers with Rubella. Ella. Ella. Eh eh eh.

Like the sound of him. Hope we sign him.

Post of the day.

You fucking loon!

I like Andros Townsend.
Andros Townsend likes our club, his club and wants to do well for us.
I want him to get plenty of chances to improve and turn out to be great.
I don't care about Hulk.

I don't care whether we sign Hulk, Captain America, Batman or Spiderman. If they are an upgrade on Andros, (or any other current Spurs player) then sign him. Whether a current player considers Spurs to be "his club" i really don't give a shit. The next time sentimentality wins a club the PL title i may change my point of view, but i don't believe that i need worry about that.
