I think you're right. The only time I was ok with him leaving was when we thought we had willian and lamela lined up. I can't see how we benefit now. The way this has drsgged out I'm expecting it to pan out as a disaster for us

I'm worried now as well.
Last week I was fine, like you, the prospect of Willian and Lamela coming in for Bale was really settling in....in fact I was liking it big time.
Alas no Willian. I'm nervous now as the closer this gets to deadline day, the more scope for it all going Pete Tong. And we've been down this road before. Not enough time etc....

"Ben gets ready to climb his usual cullen tree when he finds a weird looking device. He fiddles around with the item that has got a familiar shape, it's like a force is driving him to polish it by gently stroking away the dust.
A buzzing sound breaks the early morning silence and a blueish light shines from the familiar shaped device. From the buzzing device a holographic beam shoots out.
A tiny, tiny man appears in a white dress, badly covering his bald head with an oddly looking brown wig made of italian pubic hair.

If we are already bringing in replacements (Lamela etc) then there is no issue selling him this late.
All these rumors about United being in, or PSG being in etc sound like posturing from Levy to me.

Just a thought on this, I don't know where Bale lives, but I do know Repton Park is where spurs house a lot of younger players, or those new to the country, they own or have big rental agreements with more than a few properties in there (I know this 100% through work...and I guess this makes me ITK
) but it is generally only until players find their own mansions up in Chuffley (or that way) I would have though Bale would have moved out of there by now? Maybe he is still there? Sorry I know it's off the point, just thinking out loud!!

In addition to this, not only am I worried we might sell Bale without adequately replacing him but we might find ourselves in a position where our rivals strengthen and we don't.
Expecting a departure or two from RM before the window closes and I do not want to see any of their players end up down the road!
