It is suspicious that a new poster arrives and then starts throwing out 'info' without verification, it's a typical tactic used by WUM's - not that Phez is one, he might be, he might not. I'd much rather he kept his 'info' to himself until he's verified, this way he's not thought of as a WUM or anything and when he is verified (if he is) he'll be able to post info without having alienated half the ITK forum regulars who have a deep passionate hatred for all things WUM.

The reason the ITK thread is such a good place is because the info that is posted is done by posters whom the mods have vetted and as such we're not being wound-up by attention-seekers.

same situation as LLM, n mods know ajbout it. please lets just get back to itk now, we are all yidos here no need for any aggro , we are all here for the same thing , 'goodies' for our itk addiction.

If he is leaving Roma to go to Southampton then that should tell how good he is

Pretty sure it has nothing to do with his quality as a player as Southampton are one of the richest clubs in the football league. Have you seen osvaldo play? Very good player bar his attitude.

he's hardly shit and Southampton are trying to do something they are an ambitious club. And I think he's played under Pochettino before Im sure I remember reading him saying good things about him as a manager. There both countrymen as well.

edit he played for him at espanyol

His mental state nobody knows because the player doesn’t speak,” said Villas-Boas. “The only thing that we are able to see or you [media] are able to see is the player arriving in and out of the training ground.

“We are aware that Real Madrid are interested in the player. It doesn’t mean that we are willing to negotiate on him. Our idea is to count on Gareth.

“Speculation has arisen with the player because of the quality that he has and the season he had last season, the amazing moments of individual brilliance. Ideally, we’d like the player to continue belonging to Tottenham.

"We can speak to the players regarding their ambitions and we can explain to them that at certain stages players are under contract and have the responsibility towards their clubs and we as club, or the chairman as the person who controls the club, has to defend their own interest.

Oh if it's only his attitude that's fine

The point being if he was really good Southampton wouldn't have a look in would they? Ambitious or not there must be at least 20 more attractive clubs to move to

Last quote there makes me tend to believe that Bale has made his intentions known he wants to move.

Is this a call for some back-up from Levy? Would love for Levy to come out with another statement similar to the one made regarding Modric a couple of years back.

Yes I wasn't sure about Berba, but I am 99% sure Modric played in at least one game before he was sold. Unless I am going mad in my old age.

Berbatov played 35 mins of the second half in the opening game of the 2008-09 season at the Riverside stadium, then effectively went on strike for the next 2 games until he inevitably got his move to Manure

It's not as simple as Modric here though, we are talking world record fees if we sell. Bale isn't completely not for sale, but he'll only go if we get a ridiculous amount of money.

Very good article. Still not quite sure where all the rumours of Bale 'repeatedly telling spurs he wants to leave' are coming from tho.

I think that should be 'reportedly' rather than 'repeatedly', just as I think bale is surrounded by a 'saga' rather than a 'sage'

A spellchecker isn't as good as an actual proofreader...

I don't think he as a player is in question it's the person I think it maybe similar to the Mvilla situation where big clubs weren't going in for him because he got bad press over his attitude.

all the players we have signed this summer have hardly had bigger clubs than us crawling all over them but they are still good players and good signings. You really can't use the big clubs are not in for him so he must be shit criteria. that's about as relevant as they play in the dutch/Portuguese/French league so they are not good enough one.

Osvaldo is good enough for us

I can't see his value dropping much in 12 months, and if keeping him gives as a much greater chance of CL qualification at least, then couldn't you say his value is at least 30 mil more to us than his actual market value?

It's up to Levy though, and as we're talking such a high fee, it's easy to see the conundrum.
