Newcastle or Everton - I still think he is a top 8-10 side player.

Yeah, he seems to get a bit of shite in here but let's remember the season he got player of the season for us, he was immense. Shame we didnt have him a few years earlier when he was at the spam.

Don't see why a written transfer request makes a difference? The contract that you sign is legally binding. Simple as that fuck player power.

For the record couldn't see Bale doing that anyway.

Agreed. A few games in and he will be back to form and we will have some team. So exciting, I'm sure we will all be pissed off after a few weeks, bitching at each other....Just the spurs way :)

I'm a bit meh with all the Bale stuff now. If he stays, can the fans show the same amount of affection that they have done previously knowing he's off next year? Will the fans buy any Bale merchandise knowing he's off next year? I doubt i'll be buying my boy anything knowing that he'll be off. I would love it if he stayed but I've sort of resigned myself to not be overly worried if he goes.

If he does stay, he will have to sign a new contract, he deserves greatly increased terms.

He does not have to do anything. If he signs a new contract, it weakens his position. Sure, financially, it might mean a few 10 thousands for one more year but if he is intending on making the move, would be pretty stupid to sign anything. Just my onions!

I believe in theory if the player submits a transfer request, they are forfeiting their loyalty payments, meaning the buying club shouldnt have to pay as much for them

but we all know it doesnt work like that :ROFLMAO:

I was kind of excited about his stance on Bale moving from "triple sell" to "don't buy" (that's for the Arrested Development fans) ;)

Too late for clever references. I've just spent 5 minutes wondering wtf Mr Wendle has to do with Bale

Fans as I'm sure you know are fickle, when he's running down the wing or blasting in 30 yard winners, we will be singing his name. Even if/when he leaves, I will still respect what he's done for us and the way he's representing our club.

Doing a transfer request means that you waive your loyalty bonus iirc or a percentage of the fee(I think it is the first one and not the second one)
