I'd prefer us to sign a striker that can play wide as well such as rebic or rodrigo

In an ideal world we'd get rid of both Ade and Defoe and Have Soldado, Damiao and one that can play wide like you said. Aubamayang would have been nice, will be good to watch him at Dortmund next season though.

The reason to buy at a good price now would be as an investment. We're never likely to make any money on Soldado, whereas we still could on this guy if he bangs in 30 goals. Only worth it though if we could get him for a decent price.

Should imagine though that the club is not overly happy at missing out and messing us about when they did.

It would be hilarious to sign Leandro now that not many of us care all that much anymore. Even if we do sign him, I'm worried that his agent will constantly be whispering in his ear and unsettling him. He seems like he gets terrible career advice. He's going to end up in Bulgaria playing with David Bentley at this rate.

Just taking into account early ITK that Levy could pursue this late in the window and Keith Mills quotes about looking for more firepower, I think we will deffo revisit this one.

I'd still love for this deal to happen although I just can't see it unless Inter come begging for us to take him for a reasonable fee. He won't have long left on his contract at this rate unless he's signed a new one at some point.

I have a feeling Mr Levy is of the exact same thought as you. He (according to ITK, possibly JJetset?) is happy to wait until the dying minutes of the transfer window, in the belief that he'll get a call similar to the one he got for VdV. Levy supposedly REALLY wants this lad, so maybe it's going to pan out just as you think? As for his contract running low, I believe he signed a new one either last summer or in January & it included Internacional taking full ownership of him, I think.

Interesting about the ownership, for a last minute deal to happen that would be crucial. I have a feeling they're just going to wait untill after the world cup next year although if he doesn't make the squad for any reason they could have egg on their faces.

Leandro eh?
I remember this guy from back in the day when I was a kid.
Iirc he was supposed to be alright. He's gotta be 47 by Shirley?

edit: an itk said we will be back in for him on deadline day. That was said at the start of the window I believe.

Seems I'm wrong Jerry mate. Articles all over the internet say that Inter have 70% ownership whilst 30% is owned by 'The Athletic', of Morrow - http://tottenhamlive.com/news/682-internacional-damiao-tottenham.html

Wasn't he owned by 3 parties before though? I don't know, it probably won't ever happen anyway. :playful:

3 owners actually sounds familiar, Jerry. Personally I don't have a bloody clue what the story is with him, all I know is that Internacional seem to be complete & utter twats.

Could see this being deadline day if Defoe/Ade leave.

Naff me. I really really really hope so!!! That would be the greatest closure to arguably the best summer window in Tottenham club history (especially if we manage to keep "him who shall not be named")!!!

Wasn't there ITK ages ago saying we had given up but would go back in for him on deadline day?

To be honest I would be over the moon if we signed him but only if the price is right.

I'm surprised this thead is still going but it'll still be around even if he signs for someone else. Like Bernard, I think we made fucking good offers for both. I understand why we didn't go higher. RM could take a lesson from us. You offer a price you are willing to pay (in Bernards case £16m) and they either accept it or reject it, in the case of the latter you move on.

I think there was an ITK saying we've given up a while ago, but I don't recall any ITK in regards to going back for him when the window nears closing. I think the latter was pure conjecture (or wishful thinking perhaps) from some Yids.

We can't get him at the price we want though, they know they always have the backwater of Russia or the Ukraine as an escape route whether he likes it or not.

Nah, I'm certain there was ITK saying Levy would go back near end of the window. And it wouldn't be Spurs without a deadline day deal.

I am sure Bernard going to SD for 25 mil when nobody else offered anywhere near that amount will have made thier resolve to hold out for a higher fee even stronger.
