My issue is that we have this great chairman who made us into a self-sustaining club with no debt and now we do have debt. If you're going to invest it should have been when we had C.L football and Arsenal couldn't spend much. If Redknapp couldn't be trusted then fire is ass or don't appoint him in the first place.
1. We do have debt, and we did before this alleged 50 million - interest free - from Lewis.
2. We didn't 'have CL football' until we beat Young Boys, and we all saw how close we came to not having it. So if we had spent big and lost the qualifying round, our ability to compete subsequently, and our financial stability, may have been compromised.
3. He did fire Redknapp - although I didn't know that Redknapp had a donkey.

There is no such thing as a debt-free football club - and very few debt-free sizeable businesses. It's the ability to repay which is crucial. All of Chelski's spending has been funded by loans from the russian, for example.

I'm not sure. This has only happened to me three times before, once when the Benteke new contract stuff happened. The second time was when we signed Paulinho and another time when I fell asleep round Oddie's house and woke up blindfolded and tied to his pool table with the 8 ball stuffed in my gob and feeling very sore down there.

Rather like any Chairman feels who has to deal with Levy then.................:bag:

Soldado handing in a transfer request would be slightly more money for valencia

It means he'll lose out on any fees made from the transfer but I doubt he'd do that. If he was getting that agitated he'd have done it by now. I think he's got far too much respect for the club and fans to do that.

Don't see any gift from Lewis. We have extra money from the improved TV deal, the training centre being completed and we paid off our short term debt. We still have large debt but that has to be paid off over a long period.

I'm still hopeful so not trying to be a pessimist, but people shouldn't put too much faith in the fact that he isn't going to play in a friendly when he hasn't come back from holiday until today(ish).

FFS it's not a debt!! It's an internal arrangement, never going to bankrupt us! It must be a way of feeding monies into the club and avoid paying exsorberant taxieds! Why worry? They know what there doing! And why the fuck shouldn't we have a little go at it? It's bollox! We're supporters not fucking accountants! Leave it alone, enjoy!!!!

Aren't Valencia only selling him because they are in financial trouble though.? Handing in a transfer request to save the club some money might be exactly what they need if it will bridge the gap between the two clubs valuations.

How dare you apply logic to this thread. Don'tcha know it's almost 11pm and I'm very tired!

In other words - good point.

POTL told us that this morning, pretty much exactly that, there's not even a clever twist or anything
