I don't think that's entirely fair, I think Holtby was used in fits and starts in different positions and never really had chance to build any rhythm.
I agree, in my next post I did mention that he was all over the place compared to his performance at Schalke. I also think the move to 433 will suit him as well siggy(moving back to the middle) as well as all the squad

I don't know why, but I have just had this image of Bernard in the Spurs team in my head for a month or so now. It's not quantifiable, nor tangible, and it reeks distinctly of that horrible bitch called hope.

Read through too many ITk windows on here in the past to have ever got at all worked up either way this summer, but I just have this little butterfly in my stomach, yearning for Bernard. We need to correct the wrong of Oscar last summer and get our little flairy, clever playmaker that unlocks doors.

Mata, Oscar, Silva, Cazorla, Nasri, et al all the other top teams have at least one, except Man utd who covet one and have tried for the likes of Thiago

I think we are definitely in for Bernard. Obviously this is just personal opinion, but I actually think Chadli is evidence of that. It sounds like we've got Chadli lined up and he openly wants the move. The only reason why we would be waiting out is we're actively working on a 'Plan A' option. And, given the fact that Bernard isn't open to a move until Wednesday, it really fits together. If we fail with Bernard, it's a quick switch to Chadli.

I think once we figure out Bernard or Chadli, we will then move to the striker position with whatever funds we may have left. This is is no way new information, but I just had this overwhelming sense of clarity in all of this for whatever reason.

agreed.

If we can get the nod from Bernard, I would even settle for a loan striker signing someone like Moratta, ie of course if we don't have money towards ST...

I agree youtube really shows a players abilities better than watching live.....Hold on he is good on FM too.

Funny you should say, im playing it right now whilst working offshore, and AM wanted £37m!! they are worse the International to deal with. FWIW i decided on Leo Baptistao from Rayo Vallecano for a £7m release clause in proper Levy style.

Ignoring the most accomplished and consistent goalscorer in the Tottenham ranks over the last three years.

Defoe:
10/11: 8
11/12: 17
12/13: 15

Adebayor:
10/11: 13
11/12: 18
12/13: 8

Bale:
10/11: 11
11/12: 12
12/13: 26

Dempsey:
10/11: 13
11/12: 23
12/13: 12

Despite apparently being the most shit player on the pitch every single season.

I'll being very annoying once he explodes this season and everyone will speak ever-so-nicely about this overrated, garbage player.

Thinking back -

Mido tweeted these lines in early July

Paulinho is a great signing for spurs..he is the player we need..now go for a good striker..great work from Baldini!!

One thing for the Spurs fans..you have to trust Baldini..I v worked with him at Roma and he is the best!!

I think Baldini will go after Osvaldo if we cant get Villa!!

P.S: Mods - I know not supposed to quote tweets, but thought I would post it, now that Osvaldo is under ITK & Mido is a verified account

Think you're being a little harsh on Bale there and we've not ignored him either.

Just had a look... Interesting he called Osvaldo early; maybe he has heard something.

Love it with all these former players, Mido, Chimbonda... They seem to have become genuine Spurs fans.

For me a player like Osvaldo could do wonders for the squads' mentality. He brings an "attitude" to the pitch much like a Cantona or Zlatan. (not saying hes anything like these players) We have a great squad of genuinely "nice-guy" players. Bale/Defoe/Lennon/Verts/Dembele etc just seem like nice guys working hard. Injecting a little attitude a la Osvaldo could help the team in general to have that "fuck you" we're gonna beat the piss out of you attitude that I would like to see from the team more often. Now reports are he is a bit of a nut and could technically hurt the chemistry but who knows. Luckily Baldini should have a good idea of how he may affect the team and if he thinks it would work then i'm all for it...

He could also poison a harmonious dressing room. Not sure why his attitude is thought of as such a positive around here.

I like him as a player but he is a pretty big risk.

on another note a mate has just texted me this post by Hertyid over on COYS. He had just been to a wedding....

With an associate of JB.

Bale - we set a price, was agreed initially by two clubs. Neither have bid that number officially and GB happy to sign new contract. Agent gets 20% of wages so no pressure to move.

Villa - we had him agreed. Athletico came in late, nothing we could do. Gotta move on.

He said soldado being pawned around. I know nothing about this guy but he reckons he'll be in PL by sept.

Also said we were chasing Shaktar guy for the last year but in end money wasn't enough, not sure which player he was referring to.

Final he said we have money to spend. GB seen our plans and very impressed, if not he wouldn't be signing up. Said JB and son very happy and expect a lot. all good.

Don't know who JB is?

Baldini as GM of Roma, was the man who brought Osvaldo to Roma from Espanyol. He was also the man who approved Roma Coach Luis Enrique 10 days ban on Osvaldo, when he punched Lamela.

If we really show interest in Osvaldo, its no guessing its down to Baldini.

Having said that I would still view Osvaldo as a compromise signing than being the real target.

I agree with you about him possibly being a negative but depending on what is available he may be something of the best value and I was just mentioning how I feel his attitude MAY not be such a huge drawback. For me, none of us know exactly what he is like. Baldini would probably have the best handle on how big/small of a problem he could be. When you play sports and your team is full of "nice guys" you can be successful but often the very best teams have a bit of "snarl" to them. It's somewhat a type of intimidation and having a guy on your team that is both a good player and has a bit of "crazy" sometimes gives you the confidence to be more aggressive. I think some of our players would be even more effective with a bit more arrogance/aggressiveness in their play. But that's just my opinion.
