Wow there are some ridiculous posts on here today Some of you really need to post less or not at all.......

This Ade on form Benteke argument is redundant If we we really want to go places as a team we need 2 or even 3 first choice strikers. Competition for places, covering injuries and/ or lack of form is crucial in today's game. Do you thank Man U fans care if RVP, Rooney, Hernandez or Welbeck scores? They just want to win.

Ok so we're not Man U so we can't keep 4 strikers happy but I think we can manage 2.

So yes I hope Ade is on fire and I hope we buy Benteke and I hope at least one of them is firing for the WHOLE season!

I maintain that a fully fit Adebayor and Benteke would be a better option than only one of them! Pretty fecking obvious really.

Personally, I'd prefer we signed Benteke, kept Ade, and sold Defoe. I believe Ade and Benteke would be more suited to the lone role, then bring in a younger striker as 3rd choice.
Not sure that's gonna happen, but just my take on things.
Sign Benteke, WF (happy to just go with Chadli at this point, sooner we're done the better), then 2/3/4 younger players to cover CD, CM & CF. Maybe a LB, only if Ekotto goes.
Sell fringe players, Gomes, Naughton, Khumolo, Hudd, Parker, Dempsey & Defoe. Maybe Falque.
Promote Archer, Smith, Carroll/Mason/Luongo, Ceballos/Pritchard, Kane/Couibailly/Coulthirst etc to fill the gaps.

Only about 2/3 of them are fit to plug gaps in our premier league squad mate... I wouldn't want to have to field most of them... Way too raw.

Seems as though United are trying to generate some money for someone. Moyes' comments yesterday could only have been designed to push Rooney towards the exit door. However, like you I seriously doubt they could put enough money on the table to tempt Levy.

A&C, hoping this is cool (tell me to delete if it's not), but a guy that was at the match yesterday (Mile Pearson) wrote for Cartilage Free Captain a really good writeup on the match. Also, I'm not sure if this was posted already.

At the end of the article, he said he had a chance to speak to AVB briefly:

In a (short) conversation with the ultra cool AVB by the dug out before the game, he said conspiratorially that he ‘had a few more transfers lined up' but wouldn't say more. I mean of course it seems a bit obvious, but it's still nice confirmation that stuff is going on.

I would be staggered, astounded. There is no way Levy would sell Bale to them. So many reasons its not even worth getting into. Money talks at the end of the day, but in this case it would have to be obscene, and I mean over 100 million.

Our deals are always a bit complex but worth it in the end if they come off.

I'm still confident at this point in time and dont get impatient. Sometimes we do players and it take 3 weeks to announce and on others we announce immediately.
