Don't want to spam this thread but with ITKs suggesting Chadli is a back up plan, could plan A be Lamela?

There was an article by Jason Burt (usually reliable - AVBs mate) prior to Baldini being appointed suggesting that we may be preparing a bid and he would suit the mould of that type of wide forward player that we're looking for?

I disagree a little on this. There will be a budget to spend to and i think we would have looked at the option of spending big on the striker or, big on the winger i.e Villa for £6-7m and Bernard for £20m OR Benteke for £20m and Chadli for £6m. Similar net spend for either combination of about £26, 27 million but i can't see a Benteke and Bernard for £40ish million.

Surely the summer would have been a good time to have a look at it to see if he could have an operation to cure it. I mean, I'm sure they thought about it but we are notorious at faffing around with injuries rather than just sorting them out asap.

I think I read somewhere that with Dembele's type of injury a surgical option will not necessarily provide the best results, and that giving it the time to heal may be beneficial in the long run.

Yeah, in (on?) my onion, Pjanic would be a strange signing unless we're thinking of getting rid of Siggy/Holtby. we have Carrol, Siggy, Holtby, Dembele, Paulinho and Dempsey who can play in that position. Oh, and Bale - 'cos he does what he wants.

They are actually looking like they could be stronger than last season. Going for Scott, Gary Hooper amongst others

Backing up Storts info last night that Daniel has had Chadli fully checked out and is another option for us.

This has been mentioned by lots of other ITK too and i have been away but he has definitely been 'evaluated' so to say.

The only problem is that there is often a massive delay between us knowing something has happened (ie announced by all the media) and the one day a week the work-experience lad comes in to put things on the bloody os!

I honestly have no idea why anyone thinks we are still in for in Bernard. There is no reliable noise around him and hasn't been for weeks now. Yet still people are wishlisting him and putting him in teams and now people think he's the plan A to Chadli's plan B.

I'd love to be wrong, but there's just nothing doing there IMO

No sort of word on the guy at the top of the list as a wide forward? Anyone that has been mentioned here and elsewhere before? Bernard for example - word said that we were 1 of 5 clubs interested. Fully understand if you don't want/can't answer that one.

As a WF or ACM mate? He plays as a WF for Twente but ACM for Belguim.

Chadli is a wide forward and I think he can be useful for us, strength, speed and unselfish passes.
