It's the City effect. If Sevilla think City wants him then they'll price him accordingly. Dzeko might be available if they do buy him, although his wages would probably put him out of our price range.

Would love Dzeko but I'm sure he's on approx £230k per week.

I wonder what the Negredo thing means:

1) we've realised that the price Villa want for Benteke is unrealistic or the gap between our respective valuation is too vast and we are looking elsewhere?

2) we are looking at other options as part of good business practice or as part of the game to show Villa, Benteke and his advisors we have other irons in the fire to force the issue?

I quite like Negredo and towards the end of the season he was on fire (11 in 10 at one point if my memory serves me well). However, I think Sevilla will be demanding similar money to Villa so surely the Levynomics point towards Benteke?

Just hope we end the window with a goal scorer and another creative player who can break down teams who come to WHL to park the bus. That happens I'd be delighted but, as always, I am keeping my expectations low!

But sherwood is above avb and mcdermott buddy. It sounds bizarre but he is the same level as baldini.

I will explain the diff in sherwoods and baldinis roles another day.
When is LLM going to be verified it seems his info is on a par withh JJ dare I say it.

Don't understand our transfer policy. If we don't have the money, why the fuck did we buy paulinho before we bought a striker!!!

I was lead to believe that Baldini's remit from Levy was, and I quote, "piss off Babylon22". He has only been officially in office for a matter of days and it seems he needs a new objective!

Could be either mate. Although if we encouraged the Benteke camp to hand in a request we must of indicated that we were prepared to get very close to the valuation - if, as reported, they were set on him coming here and effectively ruling out others.

I think its more likely to be number 2 though. Like you say Levynomics dictate Benteke is the far more attractive deal.

Can someone genuinely explain to me why so many people on here would rather have Defoe than a 1 in 2 goals a game striker in Negredo? i'm a bit confused

Will he be a 1 in 2 goals a game striker in the Prem? I think this is the first massive mistake people make when asking for any international player, assuming (random player) will make the transition right away.

Although Negredo has a good goal scoring record he is very hit and miss, and Defoe esq when it comes to missing sitters in key games.

For the reported fee, people would rather have a world class striker such as Soldado instead of another Defoe.

I'd take Dzeko over Benteke and Negrado. But as you say, wages would be a big problem.
