Ade's supposed to be on £200,000 pw as City are still paying nearly half of it.

That's the main reason we won't sell him as whoever buys him would have to pay him a lot more than we do, unless we agree to subsidise his wages (like we are doing with Jenas).

Based on that and assuming if we sold him City wouldn't still have to pay any of his wages then LLM is correct in saying Besiktas would need to be paying him £120,000 pw in order to give him the same take home as he gets now which would be around £100,000 pw

Why wouldn't City continue to pay their 80k? I dunno why it would be contingent on Ade playing for us.

So they didn't have to keep paying him £200k?

IIRC Real Madrid paid half of vdV's wages whilst he was with us. And we're supposedly paying a chunk of Jenas'. It's just what you have to do to clear our your deadwood sometimes I guess.

I thought one of the things that held up the Ade deal, was him & City agreeing a 'pay off', which ultimately made up for the shortfall in wages due, due to the remainder of his contract etc? I'm sure I read that it's in breach of a random PL rule for a club to continue to pay a player who was formerly their permanent employee/is permanently employed by another club?. Since the day of Ade becoming our player, I have always been of the opinion it had happened due to Man City & him coming to a mutual financial agreement via an agreed lump sum.

The case against Remy in the alleged rape isnt that strong to be honest. He should get off.

Us and QPR are new besties also at chairman level. The bloke who manages their football team is still completely nuts!

Regarding Soldado is that, he isnt first choice and has been heavily considered over the last few years and when he was at Getafe. Valencia are still not great financially so they could do with the money however he wants big wages and a fee plus his age works against him with Daniel being closer to 30 than 25! However my onion is that he really is Top quality and would be great for us but would be surprised to see it happen.

Erm dont be surprised to see Townsend go somewhere if he isnt playing every week as he doesnt want to sit around and be a bench warmer this season.

Twitter is so last year we are all snapchatting now.....

We should all go back to using letters, ink and stamps. By the time we got the ITK, the player would probably be ready to sign the next day (and the official site could keep up).

I think we've confused each other. You said another club would have to pay Ade more than us to match his 200k wages; But if City didn't just give him a lump sum and are still paying him 80k per week, I don't see why his going to Bestikas would change that. They would pay our 120k and City would have to honor whatever their agreement with Ade was.

Edit: And wouldn't Jenas have been out of contract this summer? And QPR can clearly afford his wages, look at what they put Samba on for God's sake. This doesn't make sense to me.

Love your user name mate.

Not having a go buddy but just wanted to clear this up. City do not sub Ades wages that would be against FA regulations. The payment from City to Ade was a bonus payment related to them winning the league. Ade would not have joined us if city did not pay him. This despite the fact he played no part in their title win. Footballers hey?

On Jenas.......

Firstly i found it hilarious and believe it was a personal joke by Daniel Levy that on transfer deadline day we tried to force a 3 for 1 deal on QPR. We were forcing them to take Bentley and Jenas in order to gain Townsend!

Jenas was Released from his contract in order to join QPR. Nobody expected it to go through such is the problem with proving his fitness. To JJ's credit he never took any money from spurs despite being entitled to the rest of his contract. His agent is also David Bentleys and Danny Grahams agent so the transfer was a nightmare to go through on deadline day with the agent so busy.

Andros Townsend: He was loaned in order to get first team football, the reason he drove away from QPRs training ground was due to the fact QPR had run out of money. (The media dont report that do they?) Such was our desire to get rid of some deadwood we went to Qpr and said we would pay the majority of Townsends wages if they took Bentley or Jenas.
We subsidised Townsends wages (we paid 90%) but Jenas we did not subsidise.

Excuse the spelling It is late!

I can see that. If we want a second striker(other than Villa) then i'm sure would rather a up and and comer below 25. It's what i've been saying all day - that's why Villa + Soldado doesn't make sense.

I fully expect him to go somewhere. Namely Labrokes, William Hill, Paddy Power, Betfred, etc...

Townsend should be good enough to push for our first team in my opinion, unless we have someone else coming in. I'd have thought at the very least he'd be able to get a enough minutes to make a bigger name for himself and get a better move next season if it doesn't work out.

I wonder who the 1st choice 'other' striker target is then, if it's not Soldado. It seems we've moved on from Damiao, could possibly be Benteke (surely too expensive?).

For the record Ade is on £110,000 a week with an added £10,000 a week which goes to his charity. Making it £120,000 a week and he is the joint top earner with a certain Mr Bale also on £120,000 a week. For now of course ;)
