Halilovic has incredible vision for a 17 year old, looks a real exciting player.

If he's half as good as you think he could be it will certainly soften the blow if/when Bale leaves a year from now.

Or maybe if we make CL (or even better than that hopefully), Bale sees our ambition and stays with us instead of moving to the Madrid ****s. Either way we should make sure we sign the quality players we need this summer, because then if we make CL the additional money will help us pay off those signings without losing Bale, and if we don't make CL then we probably lose Bale but we have the quality in the team to carry on and sign replacements (one of whom would be Halilovic I'm guessing).

It also bodes well for AVB staying for a while longer. I'm sure he'll want to work with him.

From the videos I've seen he certainly looks like the real deal (and probably a future deal for Real).

I was under the impression we get it next summer. But every EPL club is guaranteed an extra 30m. That's guaranteed money. So, perhaps Levy is viewing it as money in hand? I don't know.

That was my impression too, still we can't exactly pay transfer fees unless we have the cash to do so (or we have to borrow it). I'm sure we have a significant amount of money in the bank as well but I'm not sure it's enough to fund 7 new signings as per BEN's info. The 2 Croatians and Paulinho puts us at 37 million spent already, maybe though we won't be paying the transfer fees for the Croatians until they actually arrive. Villa would be another 10 million, I don't see where we get the money to sign 3 other players as well.

Paulinho 17m
Villa 10m
Hallelujah and the Tin Man 5m (20m spread over 4 windows)
Starter (Wing Forward or LB) 12m
Young Prospect 5m
Deadline day signing 7m

Total spend: 56m

TV money: 30m
Sales: 15m
Net spend: 11m

Is an 11m investment to keep Bale and AVB that ridiculous?

We need two strikers though I think. My thought is that maybe we are trying to get Deulofeu on loan as he can (from what I've heard) play as a wide forward or possibly play as a lone forward. So we save some money on strikers which then we could use to buy a creative player and/or left back. We could probably get a pretty decent left back relatively cheap, so maybe we could put some money aside for a really good attacking midfielder like Mkhitaryan.

Pretty positive signs so far that AVB is going to get significant backing from Levy this year. Paulinho, Villa, Halilovic and Jedvaj pretty close to being tied up his a huge statement of intent considering it is only July 1st. Whether we'll spend more or not I don't know but I can see us being interested in a wide forward, a left back and maybe another striker too. Exciting times.

I think the big difference is Harry didn't care who he got. - no urgency. Whereas AVB needs all the players in the system day 1, hence the pressure on DL to do a deal. I think DL saw how much we missed the gelling and points being lost, ESP playing high up...

Overall a solid post. But the part in bold is how we do all transfers. But it is also how all other clubs outside of the petro-trash do it. Although if we change the 5m to 20m Then we have a spend of 71m. And a net of 26m. All remains reasonable (especially if Uncle Joe is throwing in some case) and doesn't account for other revenue and shifts in contract pcts. (y)

very very exciting times!! Really hope we get young Alen, has the potential (and more) to be as good a signing as Bale and Luka

About the money. Last year we spent £42m on training ground and stadium. The training ground is finished so that frees up a lot of money.

I've got one eye on my FIFA game and my other on some porn, so I'm not really thinking straight at the moment. Because of that can someone explain the Tin Man nickname please?
