And yet at 34 Pirlo is still starring, it's not about pace but speed of vision and reaction to hit the passes quickly, accurately and with the right weight. The ball can move quicker than a player but you need two things a player who can see and play the pass well and players prepared to make the runs and find the space to receive the ball

Pirlo is a world class footballer.

Sir Thomas of Huddlestone. Is most definitely not.

Thud started last season very late after a long lay off due to injury. Like most players returning from injury he took a long time to get back to anything like he used to. He is IMHO one of the best passers of the ball in the premiership. I do agree that for his size he should be harder to get around that he is. If he were a bit more tenacious he would get more starts. That said unless he is closed down quickly whilst he is in possession of the ball he can split any defence in two and in Italy I think he will do very well.

So could I, wonder how I would get on in Serie A.

Grey Fox did mention something at some point I think and I have Spurvert has mentioned him to me, however I don't think they have had an exchange about, but instead others were discussing the info

one said he heard Lamela was on our target list and the other said he heard he was not on our target list

Could the italian police freeze a clubs assets? Would put fiorentina and juventus out of the running for villa and higuain.

I was talking about Hudd with my mate last night. He said he's never seen anything like him in terms of passing. 80 yard passes in the air or on the floor with either foot. I didn't mention this last night because it's common knowledge to us all that he's a brilliant passer! However IMO his vision is not great and the speed of releasing the ball is not fast enough! His choice of pass is not always the right one BUT maybe it's down to the movement of players around him. Personally i think his lack of movement on and off the ball will restrict his time at the very top! I can't see him moving abroad.... Another London Club like Fulham might be a good move for him. He will get playing time under a manager he's played with in the past and also will not need to relocate etc etc.

Speed of vision and reaction are two things that Hudd has never, and probably will never have in his locker.

As others have said, given an age to play the ball he can be brilliant, but there's very few leagues in the world now where that is a luxury available to players.

I'm always surprised at how often people have a go at players like Adebayor for only having a few good games a season, but yet seem to give Hudd huge amounts of slack despite him playing about 3 incisive balls a season.

Spanish and italian leagues dead then. Monaco can't play in the french league (next year). Dutch and french teams being investigated on government subsidy.

Football is fucked.

Is this fact?

They've said it's 18 of the Serie A teams - as it's that many i'd have thought they wouldn't do anything too drastic. A couple of clubs they might, to make an example of them, but that many would just be a detriment to the whole league.

I can't honestly believe you are surprised with some of the ludicrous things people sprout about players :) You spend enough time on here to know better

I think the problem also is that he can be seen only as an offensive player and not defensive. In the modern game for a player that plays in his position you need to be able to do a half decent job when it comes to blocking attacks. Tom is just unable to do that. Players can either very easily go around him (granted, the long way!) or beat him by 2 quick passes. I agree he is slow in the extreme on the turn and can't chase back either. He is also poor positionally. Carrick can do most of these things above although you wouldn't describe him as a defensive player either really.

If he were developed into a centre half at Spurs then maybe there might be hope, but he will not ever be able to command a starting berth imo. He should achieve a reasonable price though I guess.

Is this fact?

Monaco wanted to rush through the court case but the judge ruled against them. 1 of 4 things will happen.

No change.

Monaco pay the french fa €200m

Monaco are kicked out of the french league.

Monaco move their company registration to france and pay 75% tax on their players wages.

Court case will be in a couple of months.

They just sentenced belisconi to 7 years, charged maradona with €30m tax. Their country needs a new bail out.

They are out for blood.

Maybe you should ask an Italian club for a trial and see how far you get. That said if the latest raids in Italy cost their clubs much money you may get lucky, they may have to pay you in lira though!!!
