If we manage to sign Paulinho and Villa early in the window and it remedies the gaps in the squad, what will we do until September?

Im not sure this transfer policy coupled with common sense is our bag really, first we get our highest amount of away wins, then our highest haul of points in PL era, followed by the manager (head coach) saying our best player is not leaving and now early transfer activities.

This is not the Tottenham Hotspur i'm used to supporting!

Even if all this stuff actually happens, we will have plenty of negativity around if anyone is worried. Too many big names in and we will be convinced that Bale is off and we'll be dying to go base jumping without a parachute.

and I realize theres a need to try to keep a lid on things like this but theres no need for cryptic info related to him.

The reason we need the cryptic is so that people talk about ITK in this thread rather than Harry Kane

when Baldini left Roma, before he was confirmed at Spurs, a Spanish journalist was tweeting a lot that he is the man to bring Villa to Spurs. The one to close the deal, the one Villa will listen to and to convince him.

I'm sure a lot was done in the background beforehand, AVB and Levy and whoever they sent over to Brazil to chat to players, but perhaps Mr Baldini's holidays have been in South America this summer...
