i did this earlier and no lie real madrid come straight in for bale, i kid you not, i signed villa and damiao and then when bale asked to leave i got too freaked out and turned it off

Bale did that in my game so I went back to the save game until the chairman told me I would have the final say on whether he stays or goes. Suffice to say it's 2015 and he's still here ;)

dont listen to talksport but some guy on coys does, apparently burt has been on tonight and said:
Jason Burt has been on talkSPORT this evening basically saying that Bale won't be sold and he won't put in a transfer request, simple as that. Obviously Burt gets his info from AVB not Levy, but sounds promising anyway. Burt however did say Spurs need to back AVB in the market or these PSG rumours may hold some sway.

hertyid on coys, didnt he have some decent itk in the past ?
Everything AVB and DL are working on now regarding new formation and signings revolves around Bale. he is not leaving this summer, not even for 90m. Stay strong. September is only 10 weeks away.

*off to do some more whoring*

Not knocking the ITK posted regarding the 'world record bid' but it was from a source with no prior credentials... Other sources with track records have been very positive about GB staying. All in all I'm not worried about Bale going; I'm more worried we fail to invest this season when it's vital to otherwise we could easily slip out of top 6; let alone challenging for top 4.

It'll be interesting to see what comes to fruition.

It is simply essential that we are not conducting a transfer post-mortem on September 1st this year.

Doesn't that go against the guy that saw him coming back from Orlando a few days ago?

Heard he's on a lads holiday now according to welsh press paid to take a few of his close mates away. The line with some of the welsh papers ATM is he's trying to avoid speculation and media.

My take on it all now is Madrid and just trying to impress the fans and bully bale a bit into a TR but I can never ever see him doing that he's welsh and welsh people are loyal! Haha!.

I think Bale's hugely raised profile has completely changed the economics and I expect Levy's viewpoint

I tend to think he now sees keeping Bale as a financial necessity to help the ground development raising financing, bringing in sponsorship deals and naming rights, not to mention increased commercial benefits apart from the stadium. Bale has become a major name now, I see it here in Spain and I hear it's the same in Italy and imagine that's much the same around the "soccer" playing nations of the world. He doesn't even have to be the third best player in the world to be the third biggest name in football but that's what he is and there is huge money to be made on the back of that. Real found that Beckham's name made them fortunes, good player but hardly the best player in the world at the time, but undoubtedly the biggest commercial name

So even a world record bid will pale against the benefits of keeping him and what are the downsides? not many, at his age if anything he'll get better and either way is unlikely to go down in value. Of course he could get injured and it might affect his game but on the back of massive bids the club can increase coverage for that.

Levy has his faults and will always get swayed by a big profit on a player but he's no fool and he will be aware of the financial indirect cost of losing Bale and that could far more than offset the financial direct gain of selling him. Another time without the stadium development in mind and generating the funding and the sponsor deals maybe he'd still look at the filthy lucre right now I can't see him going for it

This 100%. Our finances would change considerably if Bale stays. His public profile is now very big and IMHO will get bigger if he can play as well next season as he did last. That would mean increase sales of merchandising all around the world, not to mention attracting top players who want to play alongside him. It would also mean the game changes with regard to the Naming Rights contract.

I think we would make more money by keeping Bale than we would by selling him. But what do I know?

I just want to recognize dovahkiin for some epic itk whoring lately

If we think the Bale speculation is bad now, just imagine what happens when we sign any attacking player. Instantly every two bit news outlet will be talking about how they could be Bale's replacement.

Agreed The welsh fa use bale for everything! He's on everything you get through the door the lot!.
Since his exploits more Wales tops with bale on the back have been sold than actual tops without a name on it!. He's a superstar he's only going to get bigger the welsh fa love it he's a cash cow for our normal poster boy rugby players!
