there was also ITK that Leandro's agent left the hotel when he was due to meet with Spurs. Just did a runner and didn't attend the meeting.

Its a funny one that is. Isn't Verts meant to be represented by the same guy? If so, then obviously we have dealt with him before and had no problems. That being the case, I would have to say that the guy doing a runner from the hotel must have been because the Inter chairman said something to him to make him think it wasn't even worth staying around or that he ws told to do it as part of some messed up negotiation tactic.

Who knows?

All I know is that this is the most protracted transfer in history.

Wow.. 45M? Thanks for the info but I still cannot believe such a high release clause is place on a kid (when he sign it). Portuguese club had some strange practice but the players are dumb enough to be held ransome.

If we ever to sign Damiao, we should have a EUR 60M release clause slap on his face.
Have you seen the release clauses Porto slaps on kids?

Multiple slaps, intimidation, threats and all forms of strong arming by all accounts, in order to control their players and dictate whether they move or not. True story. Porto is actually run like a small mafia organization

at least i've not got any worries about going to hell now. i can imagine the scene when i'm getting tied to the spit about to get rogered by one of satan's demons with his flaming barbed wire dildo.

satan's minion - 'you will spend the next 3 years in indescribable torment where your only friend will be your own agony'
me - 'meh. you obviously weren't privy to the damiao transfer on sc'

(y)

for what it's worth, i think he'd be great for us, assuming he signs before he's 148.

That is one sick club whic we also inherited the manager from.... Wonder he was coerced or intimidated. His release clause is a low 12m...probably lack of confidence from Porto board or he scared them to hell with his power points... Lol

I wouldn't want him tbh. He lost all confidence last season, even when Wenger stuck by him. They looked better with Koscielny and Mertebacksackandcracker at the back.

He was meant to step up and be their captain but he ended up doing us more good than them when he played.

He play left sided centreback as does Vertonghen which is why the latter is shunted to leftback for Belgium

Alderweireld is the one we should be buying although if Vermaelen is cheapish I can see little Danny taking the bait

Should gave gone for the Portuguese fella Amido Balde. Celtic just signed him but he might have been worth a punt at £1.5m as a 3rd/4th choice striker.

There is some truth in the Vermaelen link it seems. His agent has been putting out the feelers for suitable buyers, we have shown an interest. Dont know whether Arsenal would deal with us though

Would piss Vertonghen off little as well wouldn't it ? Vermaelen takes his position for the national side and I reckon one of the reason's he chose us and not Arsenal was because he feared the same there.

No, not his face... We don't want the eye sight excuse when he can't score

I disagree slightly as Vermaelan would come in as a second choice LCB, I heard Adams speaking about Vermaelan years ago and he said he felt he was always a better LB than a CB

What i can't understand is we have been chasing him (LD) for a while, we know the history, middle men involved, third party, chairman, fee, installments , even very close in January. So why the hell is it taking this long to tie this up. Even AVB mentioned it in January, which shows/ed we want him!!

note to self, if you leave yellow out for long, it changes colour?

good to see that now inter is willing to sell. i bet we've bid around 14-15 all along and inter wants close to 18- 20. if they keep coming back, that means they are willing to take around 15. at this point we must NEVER negotiate and low ball them with a good offer. if we ever negotiate they will know we are still on the hook. low ball too hard and chances to finally sign damiao on a cheaper price slips away. we bid too high then we wont be able to capitalise on their desperation. would be eager to see how dl handle this. i reckon if we do sign him it will be around 11m
