I'd imagine Bernard would play on the left. So, regardless, we need to upgrade the fullback position on the left. Imagining Rose/Bernard against the top tier teams is a bit worrisome. I think this is probably cart before the horse, however. Especially after JJ's recent comment.

Azpilicueta is better than Walker. Chelsea'd be silly to buy him and if it's for a high price the joke'd be on them, not us.

Personally I'd be disappointed unless it was a ridiculous offer. Still think he has a big future even though he had a mixed bag this season. He's still learning, still pretty young and defending always gets better with most players as they gain more experience - decision making etc.

It's something where we do need more from our side in having intelligent overlaps from fullback positions - especially if we move to a system where the two 'wide' players in a 4231/433 will play from out to in.

Chavs have another young RB out on loan also, 19 year old Wallace.. bought from Brazil last season, probably another on AVB's list..

Don't get why Chavs would want Walker. Mourinho doesn't like his Spaniards does he? Mata and Torres rumoured to be off and now maybe Azpilicueta?

Can't we take the money and send them Naughton instead. They're like a spoilt kid at Christmas, they'll have so many new toys this summer they might not notice for a while

He's showing all the signs of not living up to his potential currently, was awful in the sudamericano a few months ago.
